Triangle Pop Warner teams eliminated from football title chase

Bids by the North Raleigh Bulldogs and the Durham Screamin’ Eagles to win national Pop Warner football championships ended in Tuesday’s Division II semifinal games at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

In a Junior Midget game, North Raleigh (11-2) was eliminated by the defending champion Far West Jets (12-0) of Glendale, Ariz., 40-8.

In Junior Pee Wee play, coach Joey Strong’s Screamin’ Eagles (12-2) fell to the Yorba Linda (Calif.) Bulldogs, 14-7.

Durham and Raleigh football teams advance at Pop Warner Super Bowl

The Durham Screamin' Eagles and the North Raleigh Bulldogs knocked two California teams from title contention Saturday at the Pop Warner Super Bowl and National Cheer & Dance Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The Screamin' Eagles Division II Junior Pee Wee team defeated East Bay Wranglers of Oakland, Calif., 14-0. Durham will play Yorba Linda (Calif.) Bulldogs on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs Division Division II Junior Midget team defeated Lee's Summit (Mo.) Titans 16-13. On Tuesday, North Raleigh will play the Far West Jets from Phoenix, Ariz.

Victories send Triangle football teams to Pop Warner Super Bowl

The North Raleigh Bulldogs Silver and the Durham Screaming Eagles football teams, along with five cheerleading teams and one dance team, will continue their quests for national championships after winning regional titles on Saturday in Gastonia.

Each football team won its Pop Warner Mid-South Region championship, and the cheer and dance teams finished either first or second, to advance to the Dec. 4-11 Pop Warner Football Championships and National Cheer and Dance Championships at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Six other football teams, like the Bulldogs and Eagles part of the Triangle's Consolidated Football Federation, saw their seasons end in Saturday's regional finals.

Eight Triangle football teams will play for Pop Warner regional titles

Saturday was a great day for the Consolidated Football Federation.

Seven football teams in the Triangle youth sports organization won second-round games, and an eighth, the Division III Pee Wee Apex Cougars, advanced with a bye to reach this Saturday’s Pop Warner Mid-South Regional football championship games at Mount Holly and Gastonia.

Ten cheer and dance teams advance to Pop Warner regionals

Nine cheerleading teams and one dance team from the Consolidated Football Federation will have a busy day after Thanksgiving.

The teams have advanced to compete in Friday's Pop Warner Mid-South Region Championships at The Pointe in Fort Mill, S.C., CFF cheer coordinator Julie Sandford said.

Triangle Pop Warner football, cheerleading teams advance

The Triangle's Consolidated Football Federation will host the second round of the Pop Warner Mid-South Region playoffs on Saturday in Durham, Garner and Wake Forest, CFF commissioner Tom Goodwin said.

Seven football teams from the CFF will be among the 30 competitors from North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina. They will be playing for spots in the Mid-South Pop Warner Regional Championships to be played Nov. 27 in Charlotte and in Fort Mill, S.C.

Cary team wins football title; 10 Triangle cheer/dance teams head for Pop Warner nationals

The Cary Chargers won the Junior Midget Division III title at the Pop Warner Mid-South Region Championships
on Saturday in Charlotte, and nine cheerleading teams and one dance
team (see the list below) finished in the top three in the region to
advance to the Pop Warner national championships.

All of the teams represent organizations within the Triangle's Consolidated Football Federation.

Cary Chargers advance to Pop Warner regional football championships

The Cary Chargers will represent the Triangle's Consolidated Football
Federation in the Pop Warner Little Scholars Mid-South Regional
Football Championship on Nov. 28.

Playing in the Division III Junior Midget Division, the Chargers eliminated the  Central Virginia Steelers 14-6 on Saturday.

The Chargers were the only one of the final four remaining CFF teams to
advance. Cary will play the Middle Tennessee Vols on Nov. 28 in
Charlotte, CFF Commissioner Tom Goodwin said. (A full schedule is
below.) Several CFF cheerleading squads (a list is below) also will
compete that weekend in the Nov. 27 region cheerleading championships
in Charlotte.

Triangle Pop Warner football and cheerleading teams advance

The Wilders Grove Wolfpack, the Capital City Steelers and the Cary Chargers saw their Consolidated Football Federation teams advance to next week’s second round of the Pop Warner Little Scholars Mid-South Region playoff with victories Saturday. Several organizations also saw their cheerleading teams advance to the Nov. 27 region championships. (Results are below.)
- In a Division II Junior Peewee game, Capital City defeated the Churchland (Va.) Tigers 6-0.
- In Division II Midgets, Wilders Grove defeated the Suffolk (Va.) Steelers 6-0.
- In Division III Junior Peewee, Wilders Grove defeated the Havelock Rams 18-12.
- In Division III Junior Midgets, Cary defeated the New Bern Warriors 31-6.

Pop Warner football playoffs start Saturday

Seven of the Triangle's Consolidated Football Federation teams will be playing in Raleigh on Saturday as the CFF hosts 12 first-round games in the Pop Warner Little Scholars Mid-South Region playoffs. (The schedule is below.)

Winners
of the 29 overall first-round games will advance to second-round games
on Nov. 14, and the winners of those games will advance to the Nov. 28
Turkey Bowl region championships in Charlotte.

Regional champions advance to the Pop Warner Super Bowl to be played Dec. 5-12 at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
