Updated: Save money, make money at upcoming kids' consignment sales

Note: If you have information on additional sales, let me know in the comments section, and I'll add them to the list.

Once again, it's time for spring consignment sales in the Triangle -- the perfect chance for parents to save money on spring and summer clothing for their kids.

The sales are a great way to make a little money on the clothes your kids have outgrown and then turn around and save again by purchasing the next size up from other Triangle families.

In addition to clothing, many sales also offer toys, books, games, bicycles and baby equipment. Clothing sizes range from newborn to juniors. Some sales also offer maternity clothes.

Most sales offer early shopping days for volunteers and sellers, and many offer discounts in the final days of their sales.

Here's the beginnings of a list of Triangle sales:

Divine Consign sale starts today

Just a reminder that the popular Divine Consign Children's Consignment Sale starts today and runs through Friday. The show, which will be held at Stonehenge Shopping Center on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh (next to Mobley's Shoes), is known for its bargain prices on overstocks from boutiques and gently used designer clothes for kids.

For the general public, the show will run Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The clothing drop-off date for consignors is today (pre-registration required). There's a preview show for volunteers, consignors and grandparents Tuesday. And another for first-time mothers (ahem ...) Wednesday morning.

Look for overstock brands such as at Three Mommas, Wish Upon a Star, Two Friends and Kate & Libby. Consigned brands in the past have included Lilly Pulitzer, Orient Express, Rags Land, Castles and Crowns, Just Duckie and Baby Lulu. All of the pre-owned items are screened by the Divine Consign staff to make sure they are stain free and in good condition.
