Wake County's Holiday Wrap-Up will end on Saturday, Jan. 15. The program allows citizens to recycle a variety of holiday waste, including wrapping paper, trees, gift boxes and greeting cards. Since the program began on Dec. 26, 2010, nearly 1,200 Christmas trees have been collected.
The Town of Cary will collect Christmas trees and vegetative material such as wreath and garlands for free through curbside pickup and drop-off locations beginning Jan. 4, 2011.
Chatham County Waste Management is encouraging residents to go green for free after the holidays with its Christmas Treecycling Program.
