Clark qualifies for Mid-Am

Brad Clark of Chapel Hill shot an even-par 71 Wednesday to finished tied for second in a qualifying round for the 18th North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship. Michael Swiger of Raleigh was medalist with a 68.

Clark was near the top of a field of 31 golfers who qualified Wednesday at the TPC Wakefield Plantation in Raleigh. Another 59 missed the cut.

The CGA's 18th North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship, hosted by the Carolinas Golf Association, will be played Sept. 7-9 at River Run Country Club in Davidson.

Chapel Hill golfer leads sectional qualifying for Carolinas Mid-Amateur

Chapel Hill's Pete Seagroves III is heading for the Carolinas Mid-Amateur Championship.

Seagroves shot a 1-over-par 73 in Monday's sectional qualifying
tournament at Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton to win medalist
honors and a place in the 30th annual Carolinas Mid-Amateur.

The
Mid-Amateur, conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association, will be
played April 16-18 at Furman University Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.
