UNC's Holland amped for ACC addition of Pittsburgh

Senior Cam Holland may have been the happiest player on UNC’s football team to hear last Sunday that Pittsburgh will leave the Big East for the ACC.

Holland, a center and one of the top offensive linemen in the ACC, is a Pittsburgh native and would have played for the Panthers had it gone down to his No. 2 choice in recruiting.

UNC shuffles offensive line for Jackets

Jonathan Cooper's experiment at center for North Carolina lasted one game. Cooper, who struggled in the Tar Heels' opener at center, will move to left guard, he said on Tuesday.

Cam Holland, who replaced Cooper after two errant snaps in the LSU loss cost UNC nine points, will start at center. Holland, a junior, started eight games at center in 2009.

Sorting through UNC's line issues

Offensive line is the one position North Carolina could not afford injuries. Two games into the 2009 season, the Tar Heels are scrambling for healthy bodies.

Guard Jonathan Cooper, who missed the UConn game with an ankle injury, practiced Wednesday and coach Butch Davis hopes he will be available for Saturday's game with ECU, if not be able to start.
