What to Watch on Sunday: A mind-blowing 'Walking Dead'

ACC Tournament Championship (1pm, WRAL) - Championship game.

Bob's Burgers (8:30pm, Fox) - Season 2 opens with the kids in an abandoned taffy factory searching for treasure. Bob and Linda must find them before the building's scheduled demolition.

The Walking Dead (9pm, AMC) - This term is admittedly overused, but it's valid in this case: Tonight's episode is a game-changer!!! I'm dead serious. Rick, Shane (left), Daryl and Glenn head into the woods (at night!) to look for someone/something dangerous in the area. Something mind-blowing happens. Your Mind = Blown.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - Speaking of your mind being blown, a major character is killed on tonight's show. Unfortunately, that surprise got blown earlier this week during the real-life Nicollette Sheridan/Marc Cherry trial (which has been fascinating!). You may already know who it is, but if you don't and want to know, Google your heart out.

The Celebrity Apprentice (9pm, NBC) - The contestants must produce a live event spotlighting a new Buick, but ... the choice for project manager is questioned on one team and a deep division develops on the other. A preview from last week featured Trump saying he would fire two people tonight.

The Good Wife (9pm, CBS) - Alicia defends Colin Sweeney (again) on sexual misconduct charges, which threaten to derail his attempt to regain control of his company.

Oprah's Next Chapter (9pm, OWN) - Oprah interviews Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina.

Coming Home (10pm, Lifetime) - Season 2 begins with a military dad, who is a huge Oakland Raiders fan, being reunited with his kids during the halftime show at a Raiders home game.

GCB (10pm, ABC) - Amanda worries that the sins of the mother will be visited on the daughter when Laura attends her old high school and encounters a new set of mean girls. Also, Carlene plots revenge for Amanda embarrassing her in church.

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The "Miami Taunter" kills again, and Horatio visits the matriarch (Raquel Welch) of the suspected killer's family.

Eastbound & Down (10pm, HBO) - Kenny thinks his son is cursed and maybe the blame for a recent run of bad luck.

What to Watch on Sunday: Big premieres! Lots of new stuff tonight.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (8pm, ABC) - First Lady Michelle Obama appears in this Season 9 premiere, which features the residence for homeless female veterans in Fayetteville. The Steps-N-Stages Jubiliee house was founded by Navy veteran Barbara Marshall, and was renovated with the help of armed forces members and the Godfrey Group of Durham. Photos from the construction.

Amazing Race 19 (8pm, CBS) - The 19th season begins with 11 two-team members, including former "Survivor" winners Ethan Zohn and Jenna Morasca. The show introduces a new "hazard" penalty this season.

The Simpsons (8pm, Fox) - The Season 23 premiere has Homer involved in a terrorist plot and features Kiefer Sutherland as a security guard. Meanwhile, Marge dreams of being on "Top Chef," so Tom Colicchio lends his voice.

Cleveland Show (8:30pm, Fox) - In the Season 3 premiere, Cleveland is upset when Peter (Seth McFarlane) comes to town and doesn't look him up, she goes camping with Ric Flair.

Boardwalk Empire (9pm, HBO) - Lots of trouble all around for Nucky Thompson in tonight's second season premiere. Nucky (Steve Buscemi) must try to play peacemaker after Chalky has a dangerous run-in with the KKK, and must also try to dodge the feds, who are still after him. Meanwhile, Al Capone looks to expand the illegal booze business in and around Chicago, and Agent Nelson Van Alden's wife comes for a visit.

The Good Wife (9pm, CBS) - Season 3 opens with Alicia defending a Muslim student accused of murdering a Jewish classmate. Look for the animosity between Alicia and Peter to heat up this season. And based on this new poster, look for the romance between Alicia and Will to heat up as well.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - The eighth and final season begins with the ladies and Carlos trying to dispose of the body of Gaby's evil stepfather after Carlos killed him to protect Gaby.

Family Guy (9pm, Fox) - The Griffins are broke as Season 11 opens, but Peter has a plan to turn that around: the purchase of 200,000 lottery tickets.

American Dad (9:30pm, Fox) - In the seventh season premiere, Stan buys a singing hot tub. Cee-Lo Green provides his own voice and that of the hot tub.

Pan Am (10pm, ABC) - A new series following the adventures of stewardesses and pilots during the glamorous 1960s "Jet Age." The show is pretty to look at, but not much happens in the first episode. Still, I'm hopeful enough to watch at least once more (read my short review). Christina Ricci stars.

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The tenth season begins with Horatio bleeding from a gunshot wound and Natalia battling to free herself from the trunk of a submerged car, as the other CSIs try to capture an escaped murderer before he kills again.

Breaking Bad (10pm, AMC) - This isn't a premiere, but it's worth mentioning because it's the best thing on TV tonight (or any night). And we're getting close to the season winding down. Tonight, Walt makes moves to protect his secret and to protect Gus. Meanwhile, Skyler is further stymied in her attempt to help Ted with his financial problem.

Also tonight, a new season of "60 Minutes" (CBS, 7pm) begins, "Drop Dead Diva" (Lifetime, 9pm) season finale, and the second season of "The Great Food Truck Race" (Food, 9pm) ends.

What to Watch on Sunday: Finales for 'Amazing Race,' 'Brothers & Sisters'

Amazing Race: Unfinished Business (8pm, ABC) - The final four teams race through Rio de Janeiro before heading to the finish line in the Florida Keys.

Celebrity Apprentice (8pm, NBC) - Donald Trump is punishing America over last week's Osama bin Laden interruption by inflicting a 3-hour show on us tonight. Three hours! And it's not even the finale. But -- there are some name brand guest stars, like Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, and Jim Cramer. And also, one of the celebrities goes missing during a challenge. Money on LaToya.

Bob's Burgers (8:30pm, Fox) - While mold is being removed from the restaurant, Linda and Bob go on a double date with Mort and a female mortician voiced by Amy Sedaris.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - In the fifth season finale, a surprise guest shows up at Sarah and Luc's wedding (right), and Kitty (remember her?) faces a tough decision. Directed by Ken Olin. The future of this show is uncertain, Walker fans...

The Killing (10pm, AMC) - The police discover more about Rosie's activities on the night of her murder, and Mitch begins to wonder about the direction of the police department's investigation. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but did Stan kill that teacher!?!??!

Treme (10pm, HBO) - Toni's investigation of a post-Katrina casualty gets more confusing at every turn, and a routine closing at the bar for LaDonna becomes a disaster. Also, Sonny turns to another musician for help when his home is vandalized.

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The ninth season ends with Horatio capturing the last prisoner who escaped months earlier from a Miami jail, but the convict's transport plane crashes and the CSIs learn the fugitive is planning much more than a getaway.

What to Watch on Sunday: A heartbroken tiger tale, 'Episodes' finale

Broken Tail: A Tiger's Last Journey (8pm, UNC-TV) - In this "Nature" special, wildlife filmmaker Colin Stafford-Johnson follows the trek of Broken Tail, a 2-year-old tiger that disappeared from a tiger reserve in India and was killed by a train 100 miles away. Stafford-Johnson had spent 600 days filming Broken Tail and his family prior to the disappearance.

Amazing Race: Unfinished Business (8pm, CBS) - The 18th season starts with 11 former losing teams getting a second chance at the $1 million prize. The race starts in Palm Springs, California, and continues to Sydney, Australia, where the teams swim with sharks.

Saturday Night Live Backstage (9pm, NBC) - A two-hour behind-the-scenes special that focuses on the guest host experience. Told through clips and interviews.

Big Love (9pm, HBO) - Barb's choice of an ally in her pursuit of the priesthood displeases her mother (Ellen Burstyn) and Bill faces a Mormon boycott of his stores.

Episodes (9:30pm, Showtime) - In the season finale, the disastrous "Puck!" pilot wraps and a disappointed Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) prepare to return to London. A final goodbye between Matt LeBlanc and Sean (left) takes an unexpected turn thanks to a missing Jaguar, a red-nosed reindeer, and cinnamon. There's some really funny physical comedy in this episode. Looking forward to a Season 2!

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The man who murdered Horatio's returns and spreads violence across Miami. Add in a ticking puck at an NHL All-Star game and we might have another "Threat Level Midnight" on our hands. Oops, wrong network.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - Nora is torn over a possible reconnection with her long-ago boyfriend Brody (Beau Bridges), and Justin tries to help a homeless veteran who doesn't want his help. Directed by Matthew Rhys, who plays Kevin on the show.

What to Watch on Sunday: Back to that crazy riot on Wisteria Lane...

CSI Miami (8pm, CBS) - A millionaire is murdered and the investigation leads to an elite dating service. Ryan goes undercover and poses as a rich businessman to expose the truth behind the business. Because crime scene technicians do things like that. Sigh.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - Susan's life hangs by a thread after being trampled in that truly bizarre Wisteria Lane riot. Also, we check in on Paul Young (last seen all shot up in the middle of the street), Keith moves in with Bree, Gaby tries to fix her damaged relationship with Juanita, and Renee considers telling Lynnette about her fling with Tom (bad bad bad idea).

What Chilli Wants (9pm, VH1) - In the second season premiere, Chilli visits a doctor and gets surprising news. Also, Floyd Mayweather takes Chilli on a date.

Oprah Presents Master Class (10pm, OWN) - This episode profiles ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer, who looks back over her life and career. Here's how you can find the OWN channel.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - Nora's otherwise harmless date night somehow turns into a scandal for the other Walkers.

What to Watch on Sunday: New seasons of "CSI: Miami" and "Next Iron Chef"

Lies in Plain Sight (8pm, Lifetime Movie Network) - A blind woman turns to her family for answers in the suicide death of her cousin, only to discover dark secrets from their childhood. Here's our review.

Rubicon (9pm, AMC) - I know it started off slow, but "Rubicon" is getting really good. Trust me. Tonight, Truxton gives Will a special assignment and Katherine receives a threat, which makes her afraid to leave her house.

The Next Iron Chef (9pm, Food) - The third season kicks off with ten new contestants in Los Angeles. The Chairman's Challenge has them cooking a meal on the beach.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - Bree fires her handyman (Brian Austin Green) after falling for him (eww), and Susan feels guilty lying about her new job -- being taped cleaning houses while scantily clad.

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The ninth season begins with Horatio's team losing one of its members when a psychotic genius poisons someone in the lab and wreaks havoc in Miami. In the photo here, Horatio (David Caruso) and Delko (Adam Rodriguez) help an unconscious Calleigh (Emily Proctor) but we're pretty sure she's not the one going down for good.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - An emergency meeting at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce has rumors flying. Will Roger come clean about Lucky Strike?

Glades (10pm, A&E) - In the season finale, a caddie is murdered and it's discovered that he was recently released from prison, where he served time for the attempted rape of a female pro golfer.

The Haunted (10pm, Animal Planet) - The season premiere has the story of a paranormal researcher allegedly seduced and posssessed by a female demonic creature. I'm starting to notice that a lot of these Animal Planet shows aren't really about animals.

"24": Olivia's big Oops

How weird was it that after watching '24' last night, I flipped over to my favorite crazy drama "CSI:Miami" and there was Olivia Taylor being all vulnerable as a single mom named Tonya trying to get her children back.

Somebody's agent is working hard for that 10 percent.

So last night we learned that Miss Machiavelli actually has a conscience. Fueled by the deal her mother the president made that got evil/misguided Jonas Hodges in witness protection instead of on death row, she set out to have him killed. Which, I think, gets to the issue of how we deal with terrorists -- because make no mistake Jonas is a terrorist. Our justice system allows for deal-making as one of the ways to get information and avoid torture, but is that satisfactory punishment for the crime?

Emily finally gets some lovin'

If you've ever watch "CSI: Miami" you know that Eric Delko has had it bad for Calleigh Dusquene for a while.

Well, it seems the Calleigh and Eric are finally about to get together. That's what this USA Today story says.

Which means that Raleigh-born, Ravenscroft graduate Emily Proctor, who plays Calleigh, may get to show more sides of her Southern-sweet, gun-savvy character.

We hope.

Hey, CBS: Pass on the pasta ads

The Big Bang Theory barely held my attention last night (Sheldon's friends make him go to the DMV to finally get a driver's license, wacky antics ensue ...). Yet the fast-forward button on my ordinarily reliable DVR failed to shield me from perhaps the most worst string of TV commercials since Jerry Seinfeld went shoe-shopping with Bill Gates.
