The N.C. High School Athletic Association has postponed its Eastern Regional basketball tournament in Greenville.
The Bunn girls were scheduled to play East Bladen tonight at Greenville Rose High, but the game will be moved to later in the week. The other 2-A girls game that was scheduled for tonight was Burlington Cummings against Bertie.
The boys 1-A Eastern Regional also was scheduled to start for tonight. The games between Weldon and Goldsboro and between Pender and Perquimans also were postponed. The boys tournament will be at East Carolina's Minges Coliseum.

Both teams had an open date next week.
Ty Howle wins Carolina Panthers honor
Submitted by timstevens on 09/15/2008 - 10:23Ty Howle of Bunn, a 6-foot-2, 290-pound football center, has been named as a Carolina Panthers Community Captain for the 2008 season.
The NFL team will award 10 high school players in North Carolina and 10 in South Carolina during the season for excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Howle has committed to Penn State.
He is ranked seventh in his graduating class and has been on the honor roll every semester. He has received academic awards in English, science and history.
Howle is the first of the 10 North Carolina players to be recognized.

Scores and boxscores should be available at High School Extra throughout the night, along with the night's most outstanding performances.
In addition, Tucker Frazier will be at Green Hope's boys soccer game today in Wilson against 2007 4-A champion Broughton.
