Broughton 58, Enloe 6

RALEIGH - Broughton quarterback Will Cooper passed for six touchdowns and Chris Mangus ran for 302 yards and two touchdowns as the Capitals crushed Enloe 58-6 on Friday night at home.

BHS grabbed momentum early and wouldn't let go, scoring 45 unanswered points in the route.

Wake Forest-Rolesville 13, Broughton 7

WAKE FOREST – His frustration had finally taken over. James Harris was mad. His fists were flying. A few screams came out, too. As a running back, Harris takes pride in ending games on long runs. It’s what third-ranked Wake Forest-Rolesville has done all season.

Late in the fourth quarter, Harris thought he watched teammate Marcus Jones, also a running back, put the game away with a 75-yard touchdown run. But the run was called back on a holding penalty. Now, in order for the Cougars to remain undefeated, it took Harris’ run on the next play to secure the 13-7 victory over Broughton on Friday night.

Broughton scores often in win over Wakefield

RALEIGH – A.J Liames scored. Then C.J. Tikvart and Lukas Janes scored. So did Cenorino Martinez. Even Lassiter Tollison had two goals.

In a match where both boys soccer teams focused on possessing the ball, Broughton capitalized on almost all of its scoring opportunities in a 6-1 victory over Wakefield on Wednesday night.

“They kept mounting pressure, but I thought we moved the ball really well,” Broughton coach Izzy Hernandez said. “We allowed people to get open because our transition from offense to defensive was pretty sharp.”
