Blend Cafe, a new coffee shop at the Golden Belt in downtown Durham, has recently opened.

Manager Courtney Smith says they serve Counter Culture Coffee, soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries, frozen yogurt and smoothies. Smith, who is a culinary student at Wake Tech and used to work in the kitchens at Earth Fare, says they are trying to make as much as they can in house and trying to use some local ingredients.

They are open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Saturday. They are located at 807 E. Main St., Durham, inside the Golden Belt complex.
