NFIB releases August Optimism Index

Small-business optimism rose .6 points in July, according to the National Federation of Independent Business' August Small Business Optimism Index.

The report, which was released Tuesday, indicates that two labor market indicators improved and are moving toward normal. However, only 9 percent of respondents think that now is a good time to expand their business, an indication that owners are uncertain about their company's future.
