After being one of the state's most high-scoring and decorated players over the past two seasons, Ariel Bursey knows what in-state school she will play for next year.
Kristen Gaffney of Green Hope is the only junior chosen by the N.C. Basketball Coaches Association for its all-state girls basketball first team. Ariel Bursey of Western Harnett was a second-team pick.
Among the boys, Siler City Jordan-Matthews' James Milliken is a second-team pick and Princeton's Ben Jacobs and Garner's Donald Johnson are on the third team.

UNC-Chapel Hill head coach Sylvia Hatchell saw Ariel Bursey's first game in last week's girls GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational. Bursey's older sister, Trinity, played for Hatchell at UNC.
But UNC is not one of the schools Bursey is likely to go to. The senior is considering South Carolina, Campbell, UNC-Greensboro and East Carolina.
Several girls GlaxoSmithKline Holiday Invitational records fell this week, which was to be expected when doubling the field size.
