The Bachelor (8pm, ABC) - UNC PhD student (and Duke undergrad!) Emily O'Brien (pictured here on the right) joins Ben on a group date with 11 other women. They enact a play written by children of Sonoma, California, Ben's hometown. Later, things get steamy between Blakeley (from Charlotte) and Ben.

Antiques Roadshow (8pm, UNC-TV) - The conclusion of the Raleigh episodes. The crew visits the Museum of the Cape Fear in Fayetteville, and highlights Civil War-era weapons that were made in North Carolina. Look for items related to Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1966 visit to Durham.

It features the cast in a musical number called "Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit" and has guest stars Rachel Bilson and Tim Gunn.

Still plenty of wows on next "Antiques Roadshow"

Last week's premiere episode of "Antiques Roadshow" from Raleigh featured the famous "million-dollar jade" find, but there are still plenty of big surprises and big ticket items left to see on tomorrow night's show.

Raleigh episode of "Antiques Roadshow" delivers big ratings for UNC-TV

The premiere of the first of three "Antiques Roadshow" episodes filmed in Raleigh during the summer delivered some huge ratings for UNC-TV.

UNC-TV's communications director Steve Volstad reports that in the Triangle, Monday night's show had a 6.7 rating and a 9 share. That translates into about 125,000 viewers in the Raleigh area alone -- the highest ratings for the public television network in quite some time.

Antiques Roadshow: Who got lucky in Raleigh?

Tonight's premiere of the Raleigh episodes of "Antiques Roadshow" features North Carolinians with a variety of treasures and heirlooms to show off. And you never know -- you just might see your neighbor waltzing through with a $40,000 doo-dad.

The episode has everything from pottery and paintings to Civil War relics and yes, even the "million-dollar jade."

Sadly, that now-famous jade, which was given an original appraisal of $700k to $1.07 million, fell far short of that dollar amount when sold at auction in October. The jade is from the 18th Century Qianlong Jade Collection.

What to Watch on Monday: A special "Heroes" and "The Bachelor" returns

Heroes (8pm, NBC) - A two-hour "Heroes" in which Claire becomes suspicious of Samuel, Peter struggles to accept Nathan's death, and Sylar returns to the Carnival.

Antiques Roadshow (8pm, UNC-TV) - The first of three episodes filmed in Raleigh back in July of 2009.

Antiques Roadshow Raleigh: Behind the Scenes (9pm, UNC-TV) - UNC-TV gives us a special look at what it takes to put together the touring appraisal show, and what the show's producers and appraisers thought of their time in Raleigh.

The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love (8pm, ABC) - In my opinion, ABC made a strange pick for this season: Jake, the "too nice" airline pilot from "The Bachelorette" who flew across the country to rat out that jerk-face two-timing hillbilly Wes, and then cried like a baby outside Jillian's hotel room. Speaking of Jillian, she and fiance Ed will be on hand tonight to help Jake sort through the 25 women. The whole idea of this makes me a little sick, but I bet I watch.

Conveyor Belt of Love (10pm, ABC) - Five women check out 30 men on a conveyor belt, with the belt stopping for 60 seconds so each man can plead his case. In the end, each woman gets a man. Okay, now I do feel sick.

Men of a Certain Age (10pm, TNT) - Owen's family must stay at his hateful father's house when his own home, which is still under construction, loses power.

Get ready for the premiere of "Antiques Roadshow" Raleigh episodes

PBS's hit series "Antiques Roadshow" filmed three episodes in Raleigh this past summer, breaking all kinds of records and even making one person a millionaire.

We're now very close to seeing those episodes air.

The first installment will air Monday night (January 4) at 8pm on UNC-TV, and the other shows will air on the next two Monday nights.

To get you primed for the premiere, here's our summer coverage of "Antiques Roadshow."  In addition to the millionaire jade story, we talked to a guy with a chair from the original "Planet of the Apes" movie and a family with ceremonial spears, and I even got my mules appraised. Luci Chavez also wrote about an Apex woman with a historic family heirloom.

We'll have more on the "Antiques Roadshow" premiere on Monday.

My Mules: Warm TV inside the "Antiques Roadshow"

When I got the press rules for covering the "Antiques Roadshow" taping in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, I discovered that I was allowed to take an item with me for appraisal. The idea was to give me a unique perspective on the process.

I'm not sure I achieved that perspective, because I didn't have to wait in line for hours like the other 6,000 or so folks there. Happy for me, sad for them.

But I did get to speak to one of the show's appraisers who closely examined my treasures: a brown cast iron boot jack in the shape of a donkey's head with "Roosevelt" stamped in one ear and "In '32" stamped in the other; and its companion piece, a small, iron, braying donkey bottle opener with "F.D.R." stamped on its behind.
