What to Watch on Monday: Lots of finales on a busy TV night

Bones (8pm, Fox) - Series star David Boreanaz directs the Season 7 finale, which features the return of Christopher Pelant when the "hactivist" and suspected serial killer is back in court, but the team's efforts to pin another murder on him don't go as planned after evidence points to Brennan as the culprit.

America's Got Talent (8pm, Fox) - Howard Stern joins judges Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne in the show's seventh season premiere.

How I Met Your Mother (8pm, CBS) - The seventh season ends with Lily going into labor while Marshall is partying in Atlantic City. Later in the one-hour finale, action jumps to the future as the gang gather for Barney's wedding and reminisce about how they emboldened Ted to find his true love and track down the one that got away.

Gossip Girl (8pm, CW) - Blair makes a choice between Chuck and Dan in the fifth season finale.

Bachelorette (9pm, ABC) - Emily Maynard begins her search for love in her hometown of Charlotte. Emily starts with 25 suitors and pares the group to 19.

Johnny Carson: American Masters (9pm, UNC-TV) - Kevin Spacey narrates this insightful profile of Johnny Carson, whose cool charm, quick wit and masterful timing made him the king of late night TV during his 30-year "Tonight Show" run. The biography features a wealth of show clips and remarks by family, friends, and colleagues.

Two and a Half Men (9pm, CBS) - In the ninth season finale, Jake makes an important decision about his future after graduating from high school.

Hart of Dixie (9pm, CW) - The first season ends with a huge storm hitting town on George and Lemon's wedding day.

Mike and Molly (9:30pm, CBS) - In the Season 2 finale, Mike and Molly walk down the aisle but the trip is not without a few wedding day glitches.

Smash (10pm, NBC) - The first season finale, Derek makes a major decision and it affects both Karen and Ivy. Meanwhile, Tom and Julia scramble to save the show, and Ellis reveals where his loyalties truly lie.

Hawaii Five-0 (10pm, CBS) - The second season concludes with the Five-0 losing one of its own in the line of duty. Meanwhile, another team member is forced to choose between kidnapped loved ones.

What to Watch on Wednesday: Out with the old, in with the new

Survivor: South Pacific (8pm, CBS) -  The 23rd season begins in Samoa with 18 castaways, including returning players "Coach" Wade and Ozzy Lusth.

Barbara Streisand: One Night Only at the Village Vanguard (8pm, UNC-TV) -  Streisand is at her best in this intimate 2009 show at the Village Vanguard jazz club in New York City.

H8R (8pm, CW) - A new reality series in which hated reality "celebrities" (like Snooki and Jake Pavelka) try to win over the people who hate them. This will only make people hate them more.

America's Got Talent (8pm, NBC) - The winning act is revealed in tonight's 2-hour season finale.

Buried Treasure (8pm, Fox) - In the finale of this short first season, the Keno brothers take a look at the possessions of a Georgia family hoping to raise money to avoid foreclosure.

America's Next Top Model (9pm, CW) - The 17th season is an "all-star" contest, bringing back losers from previous seasons for another shot at the prize. Nicki Minaj is a guest judge.

Necessary Roughness (10pm, USA) - In tonight's Season 1 finale, T.K. faces his rival (Terrell Owens) as the Hawks enter the playoffs. Also, Nico must decide where his loyalties lie.

Up All Night (10pm, NBC) - New mom (Christina Applegate) returns to work while her husband (Will Arnett) stays home with the baby. Reagan's boss, the host of a popular talk show, is played by Maya Rudolph. Next week, this will move into its regular 8 p.m. slot. Worth Watching?

Free Agents (10:30pm, NBC) - The premiere of a new workplace comedy about two lovelorn coworkers (Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn) and their ever-changing relationship. Starting next week, this airs at 8:30 p.m. Our take on the show.

What to Watch on Tuesday: 'History Detectives' study clown suit

America's Got Talent (8pm, NBC) - Like this show? You get three straight hours tonight.

History Detectives (8pm, UNC-TV) - Investigated tonight: a spear that may have been used in abolitionist John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry, why U.S. troops were in Siberia during World War I, and whether a Ronald McDonald costume was used in the first national Ronald McDonald ad campaign.

How the States Got Their Shapes (8pm, History) - The new episode of this show airs at 10, but the 8pm repeat examines North Carolina. There's also an ep at 9.

Pretty Little Liars (8pm, ABC Family) - Hanna assists Lucas with his dating life, and some of Aria's buried memory's resurface when she runs into Jason.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King (9pm, ABC Family) - Chloe adjusts to having sonic hearing, but she ignores Alek's advice to use it only when necessary. Also, Whitley resorts to bribery when the Order dismisses him, and Alek and Jasmine put Chloe on a rigorous nighttime training schedule.

White Collar (9pm, USA) - Peter and Neal pose as wealthy bachelors to catch a black widow.

Memphis Beat (9pm, TNT) - Dwight and Whitehead team up to investigate a missing-persons case, only to be stunned when a nun emerges as the main suspect. Meanwhile, Sutton happens upon an abandoned baby and reaches out to Dwight's mother for a tutorial on basic baby care.

Combat Hospital (10pm, ABC) - Rebecca and Bobby operate on a severely wounded soldier, and the blood supply dwindles. Also, Simon runs into an old flame, a photojournalist who sparks his interest anew.

What to Watch on Wednesday: Power of reality TV, McCreery on CMTs

CMT Music Awards (8pm, CMT) - "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery will be a presenter on tonight's award show, which is hosted by Kid Rock. Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Sugarland, and Lady Antebellum are scheduled to perform.

Minute to Win It/America's Got Talent (8pm, NBC) - This is happening all night long. 'Minute' starts at 8pm and then two hours of 'AGT.'

So You Think You Can Dance (8pm, Fox) - Contestants go to Las Vegas for callbacks to compete for a spot in the Top 20.

Haunted Collector (9pm, Syfy) - The second episode of a new show in which a team of paranormal "experts" visit locations to determine the source of a haunting -- which is sometimes, according to them, an inanimate object that spirits affix to. So yes, that creepy clown cookie jar you got from your grandmother? It might actually be haunted.

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - On a night when the only new content on the major broadcast networks is reality programming, ABC explores the popularity and profitability of reality television in America. Since they're talking about making lots of money, expect lots of discussion of MTV's 'Jersey Shore' (right).

Men of a Certain Age (10pm, TNT) - Joe does a favor for his ailing bookie, Manfro, and Terry faces up to the end of his romance with Erin. Great episode.

Locked Up Abroad (10pm, National Geographic Channel) - Mobster turned informant Henry Hill, who was portrayed by Ray Liotta in Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas," shares his story.

What to Watch on Tuesday: 'America's Got Talent' returns

America's Got Talent (8pm, NBC) - Piers Morgan, Howie Mandel, and Sharon Osbourne return as judges for the sixth season, which begins tonight with open auditions. Nick Cannon hosts.

Deadliest Catch (9pm, Discovery) - The King Crab season ends with an arctic storm, and the Time Bandit crew plays on prank on the Northwestern. Also, a revered fisherman makes an exit.

Braxton Family Values (9pm, WeTV) - Toni considers posing nude for a photo shoot, but Tamar is against the idea. Meanwhile, Evelyn goes on a blind date.

Traffic Light (9:30pm, Fox) - Mike and Lisa have their hands full dealing with the teen angst their hot new babysitter brings along with her. Also, Callie's naked dancing in the apartment is accidentally witnessed by a food delivery guy, played by Daryl "Chill" Mitchell.

Million Dollar Decorators (10pm, Bravo) - In the premiere of a new reality series, the worlds of five Los Angeles-based interior designers are tracked. Features Mary McDonald, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Nathan Turner, Jeffrey Alan Marks, and Kathryn Ireland. Check out our review.

What to Watch on Wednesday: Big premieres, bigger finales

Survivor: Nicaragua (8pm, CBS) - The 21st edition of this CBS reality show begins tonight with a special "old vs. young" competition, featuring former Dallas Cowboys coach Jimmy Johnson and three contestants from North Carolina. Be sure to check back with us after the show for a recap.

MasterChef (8pm, Fox) - The winner of the first season is announced. I have no prediction but I'm pulling for 22-year-old Whitney. The winner gets $250,000, a cookbook deal, and the title "America's Best Home Cook."

America's Got Talent (8pm, NBC) - The winner of Season 5 is revealed in a two-hour special.

Big Brother 12 (9pm, CBS) - The jury votes for the winner of the $500,000 prize in the season finale.

Dark Blue (9pm, TNT) - Two new back-to-back episodes with the 10pm episode marking the second season finale. In the finale, the gang tries to stop a terrorist smuggling dirty bomb components into the country.

Ma's Roadhouse (9pm, TruTV) - A new reality series following a Dallas man who oversees a bar, a tattoo parlor, and a motorcycle shop with plenty of input from his opinionated 71-year-old mother, who also manages his bar. Two new back-to-back episodes tonight.

Outlaw (10pm, NBC) - A new pilot starring Jimmy Smits as a Supreme Court justice who quits the court to return to private practice, traveling the country with his legal team taking on controversial cases.

Top Chef: Washington, DC (10pm, Bravo) - The winner (please don't be Angelo) is announced in tonight's finale from Singapore. The winner (please don't be Angelo) receives $125,000.

Top Chef: Just Desserts (10pm, Bravo) - This delicious "Top Chef" spinoff debuts after the D.C. finale. Check out our review.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Premieres, finales, fashion

One Tree Hill (8pm, CW) - The eighth season opens with Clay and Quinn both facing life-threatening injuries after being shot by Katie. Meanwhile, Nathan prepares for training camp in the wake of Haley's pregnancy news, and Brooke and Julian return from Utah engaged.

Life Unexpected (9pm, CW) - In the Season 2 premiere, Cate and Ryan (left) are greeted with changes at work upon their return from their honeymoon. Also, Baze gets cozy with a new bartender and Lux meets a guy who's new in town.

America's Got  Talent (9pm, NBC) - The four remaining acts perform in Hollywood for the final time.

Covert Affairs (9pm, USA) - There are two back-to-back new episodes tonight. In the first, Annie poses as a potential recruit for smugglers in London, and in the second episode, which is the Season 1 finale, Annie and Ben work together to rescue an asset in Sri Lanka.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - In the second season opener, Adam is stressed out by his family and his demanding boss, who is played by William Baldwin (Baldwin is rumored to be a love interest of Lauren Graham's character this season). Also, Zeek and Joel try to fix a leak in the barn, Crosby gets ready to see Jasmine and Jabbar, and Haddie learns to drive.

Fashion's Night Out 2010  (10pm, CBS) - Neil Patrick Harris hosts a showcase of world fashion, featuring Anna Wintour, Diane von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, Oscar de la Renta, Tory Burch, and Justin Timberlake.

Sextuplets Take New York (10pm, TLC) - A new eight-part series about the Carpios, a  family of Latino sextuplets (plus a 9-year-old) living in a small house in Queens, New York.

Also tonight, season finales for "Minute to Win it" (8pm, NBC) and "Wipeout" (8pm & 9pm, ABC).

What to Watch on Wednesday: "Top Chef" earns their Emmy

MasterChef (8pm, Fox) - The remaining contestants have to cook for a high-end wedding, but somehow lose the main course.

America's Got Talent (9pm, NBC) - Five winning acts move to the top ten. 

Dangerously Devoted (9pm, Animal Planet) - A documentary profiling three pet owners (I swear I'm not one of them) facing life crises because of their extreme affection for their pets. Included is a woman facing eviction because she has 200 dogs. That's two hundred dogs.

Top Chef (10pm, Bravo) - Fresh off their Emmy Award win for Best Reality Show, "Top Chef" charges their remaining contestants with creating tasty space-food dishes. The winning dish is then served in actual space. Buzz Aldrin (right) gives his opinion and the guest chef-judges are Anthony Bourdain and Dana Cowin.

Psych (10pm, USA) - In an episode called Shawn 2.0, Shawn meets his match when a talented criminal profiler helps investigate a series of murders involving organ donors on a liver transplant list. Nestor Carbonell, who played Richard Alpert on "Lost," guest stars as the profiler who not only threatens to steal Shawn's limelight, but also threatens to steal the heart of Juliette.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Season finales for "Hawthorne," "Memphis Beat"

30 for 30: Jordan Rides the Bus (8pm, ESPN) - An ESPN documentary about baseketball superstar Michael Jordan's flirtation with a professional baseball career. Read more in this review.

America's Got Talent (9pm, NBC) - The 12 semi-finalists perform, hoping for a spot in the top 10. The Carrboro dancer should be on tonight.

Shaq Vs. (9pm, ABC) - Shaq challenges hot dog-eating champ Joey Chestnut to a competitive eating contest.

Hawthorne (9pm, TNT) - In the season 2 finale, a construction accident causes an explosion, creating chaos at the hospital.

Memphis Beat (10pm, TNT) - Season 1 ends with Dwight (Jason Lee, right) investigating the shady past of a man with amnesia, and suspects the man may have ties to a cold case involving the murder of a little girl. Also, Lt. Rice faces financial difficulties after her husband steals a large sum of cash.

Rachel Zoe Project (10pm, Bravo) - Rachel styles Cameron Diaz and Demi Moore for the Oscars, and Brad stresses out during his first Fashion Week without Taylor.

Carrboro dancer in "America's Got Talent" semifinals

The Chapel Hill News has a great profile today of a Carrboro native whose dance group has made it to the semifinal round on NBC's "America's Got Talent" show.

Ryan Gaunt, a Chapel Hill High alumnus, founded the group AscenDance with his fiance Isabel von Rittberg in 2006. Their act combines rock climbing with dance. It's really something to see.
