What to Watch on Thursday: Lance Armstrong's doping confession to Oprah

30 Rock (8pm, NBC) - Jack and Liz head to Florida to handle his late mother's estate, only to unearth a stunning discovery about her. Tracy and Jenna supervise the "TGS" staff in their absence, leading to disastrous results for Kenneth.

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Auditions continue.

Last Resort (8pm, ABC) - Chaplin attempts to surrender the Colorado, while Kyle and Admiral Shepard target the president.

Oprah's Next Chapter (9pm, OWN) - Part one of a two-part interview in which Oprah Winfrey interviews cyclist Lance Armstrong (right) in his hometown of Austin, Texas. In the 2.5-hour interview (part two airs tomorrow night), Armstrong comes clean about doping. For OWN newbies, the network can be found on channels 259 and 1259 on Time Warner Cable; channel 279 on DirecTV; channels 170 and 1170 on AT&T U-verse; and channel 189 on Dish Network.

Suits (10pm, USA) - "Suits" returns with a criminal case that resonates with Mike, making it difficult for him to separate his feelings from the case.

Scandal (10pm, ABC) - A flashback reveals more details about the fixed election. Also, Edison makes a surprising allegation when he has a dispute with Olivia.

Legit (10:30, FX) - A new sitcom about a crass comedian struggling for legitimacy in his life and career. In tonight's opener, Jim takes his wheelchair-dependent friend to a Las Vegas brothel.

What to Watch on Wednesday: 'American Idol' returns with new judges

Arrow (8pm, CW) - Oliver loses confidence in himself and tries to take a step back from his heroic adventures, but Laurel needs his help looking into a firefighter's death.

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Part 1 of the two-part Season 12 premiere features preliminary auditions and brand new judges. Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban join Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest. And Mariah and Nicki are just wild about each other! I'm betting seconds after this photo was taken, blood was shed (or at the very least, fingers were wagged).

The Neighbors (8:30pm, ABC) - The Weavers all get sick with the common cold, an ailment unknown to Zabvronians, so Larry Bird decides to quarantine their house after learning there is no cure. I am totally in favor of this quarantine practice, by the way.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Jay and Gloria plan a surprise party for Manny's 14th birthday. Also, Haley's interest in an older man is a concern for her parents.

CSI (10pm, CBS) - A local news anchor is killed during a live broadcast.

American Horror Story: Asylum (10pm, FX) - A new inmate creates problems for Sister Jude, and Grace's alien obsession becomes violent. We also learn more about Bloody Face Jr. tonight.

NBC casting call in Raleigh for (yet another) singing show

It's what we've all been hoping and praying for: ANOTHER SINGING COMPETITION SHOW ON TV! Well, NBC has you covered, America. You're welcome.

"And the Winner Is" will debut on NBC next year, but in the meantime, they need contestants -- and they are coming to Raleigh to look for some. Producers will hold an open casting call at The Longbranch (608 Creekside Drive) on Saturday, December 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

They are looking for individuals or groups of all ages performing from all musical genres: country, rock, pop, hip hop, whatever. They guarantee they will see the first 500 people in line.

It's Bo Time: Check out Scotty McCreery's new Bojangles' commercials

Scotty McCreery's fans already know about the Garner singer's love of Bojangles' food. He's been giving free national exposure to the company since his time on last year's "American Idol" series.

Well, the fried chicken fast food chain finally made an honest man out of Scotty, hiring him as a paid spokesman. Here's the full story by Thad Ogburn.

Scotty filmed two commercials (which you can watch below) and two radio spots. Here's the first radio spot, and the second.

Watch the videos of the two commercials below.

Scotty McCreery's Christmas CD lands in Billboard Top 5

Even though we haven't celebrated Halloween yet, enough Scotty McCreery fans are apparently in the Christmas spirit to push his holiday CD into the Billboard Top 5 in its first week of sales.

"Christmas with Scotty McCreery," released last week, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The CD, which features the Garner "American Idol" winner singing holiday classics and a couple of new songs, sold 41,000 copies in its first week.

The chart was topped by another country singer, Jason Aldean, whose "Night Train" debuted with 409,000 copies sold. Mumford & Sons' "Babel" ranked second, and Brandy's "Two Eleven" debuted in third.

Nicki Minaj fights with Mariah Carey at 'American Idol' Charlotte audition

And we all thought those two really stable, balanced singing personalities were going to get along so well... [Illusions shattered.] This video, posted on TMZ, captured a mostly one-sided screaming match (Minaj at Carey) at an "American Idol" audition yesterday in Charlotte. I can't understand a quarter of what Nicki is saying here (EW has some transcription), but she's clearly upset. I'm guessing Keith Urban, sitting between the two divas, is wondering what the heck he's gotten himself into.

It's official: 'American Idol' judge panel includes Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj

A Fox press release issued this morning confirmed the new judges for the upcoming season of "American Idol."

Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey will join Randy Jackson at the judges' table.

Executive producer Simon Fuller, from the release: “With the exciting addition of Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj, alongside Randy Jackson, AMERICAN IDOL’s star power has never been so great."

"American Idol" returns in January 2013.

Scotty McCreery to throw out pitch, sing at Triple-A National Championship Game

Scotty McCreery — the "American Idol" winner and avid baseball fan — will get to combine his two loves next month in Durham.

He'll be throwing out the first pitch and performing at the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game, to be held at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Sept. 18. McCreery will sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" during the game's seventh-inning stretch.

McCreery also got to mix baseball and singing last fall, when he performed the national anthem before Game 1 of the World Series.

Fox 50 hosting 'American Idol' audition at Crabtree Mall

If you missed the big "American Idol" auditions in Charlotte last week, you might still have another chance to impress the show's producers.

Fox 50 is hosting a contest at Crabtree Valley Mall on July 7, and one local winner will get a guaranteed audience with 'Idol' producers. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. on the lower level of the mall close to J. Crew and Sears. The best singer not only gets a guaranteed audition with producers, they also get airfare and hotel accommodations for two in New Orleans for the July 17 auditions there.

Here are the rules:

'American Idol' auditions come to Charlotte

The last time “American Idol” held auditions in North Carolina -- Greensboro in 2005 -- the state ended up with three singers in that season’s Top 10.

The Tar Heel state will get another chance to load the deck with homegrown talent on June 19, when “Idol” makes an audition pit stop in Charlotte.
