Arrow (8pm, CW) - Season one ends with Oliver and Diggle trying to stop the Dark Archer from carrying out his vengeance on the Glades. Meanwhile, Thea races to find Roy and inadvertently puts herself in danger from Malcolm's evil plan.
American Idol (8pm, Fox) - The final two singers battle for the title in part one of the two-part season finale. Tune in tomorrow night for the winner.
Supernatural (9pm, CW) - Season 8 ends with Crowley (Mark Sheppard) poised to undo all the good that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) have accomplished as hunters. But the Winchester brothers try one final play against the Demon King.
Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Phil hopes his new RV will be the perfect vehicle for a family road trip, but Claire lets her husband find out for himself why it might not be such a good idea.
Psych (10pm, USA) - Shawn and Gus go undercover at a radio station to investigate the murder of their favorite DJ.
Nashville (10pm, ABC) - Lamar takes Rayna's side against Teddy concerning the girls, and Jolene attempts to help Juliette.
Chicago Fire (10pm, NBC) - Oh Casey. Casey, Casey, Casey. We are all so sorry, bro. You made us cry last week. But now it's time for some justice. Go on and team up with the Intelligence Unit to avenge Hallie's death, even though it's headed by your enemy, Sgt. Voight.
Glee (9pm, Fox) - In the Season 4 finale, the glee club performs at Regionals with newfound determination to advance in the competition. Meanwhile, Brittany comes back from MIT with a new attitude, Blaine shops for an engagement ring and Ryder learns more about his "catfish." Patty Duke and Meredith Baxter guest star.
"American Idol" winners tend to wind up everywhere, or nowhere. At the pinnacle, you have Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson, who probably would have had substantial careers even if they'd never been on the show. And down at the bottom are past winners like Lee DeWyze and Kris Allen, who are showing little sign of staying power beyond their moment of "American Idol" glory.
North Carolina is getting plenty of exposure on "American Idol" this season.
Glee (9pm, Fox) - As the glee club prepare for Regionals, an unthinkable event puts things into perspective. (I'm worried about Brittany's cat, Lord Tubbington, seen at left. Which means even if I still watched this show, I wouldn't be watching tonight!) Also, a former "Glee" character makes a surprise cameo appearance.
With his new single released to radio and iTunes this week, Scotty McCreery will return to the show that made him famous to perform the song Thursday night.
ABC announced this morning that Albemarle native and country music star Kellie Pickler will compete on the new season of "Dancing with the Stars."
North Carolina residents hoping for the next Scotty McCreery, Fantasia Barrino or Clay Aiken on this season of "American Idol" are likely disappointed with the show's Top 20 males and Top 20 females.
American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Footage from the Charlotte (well, Concord) auditions is on tap tonight, and so is a bit of the nasty fighting between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey that we've been hearing about for months now. The North Carolina audition, which took place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, is where the two judges had their infamous, profanity-laced spat. Also, even more importantly, Garner's own Scotty McCreery, the 2011 "American Idol" winner, stops by the auditions to wish the young singers luck. If you're going to watch one "Idol" this season, this is the one.
"American Idol" doesn't air its North Carolina auditions episode until next week. But an unusual performer from Durham was featured on Thursday night's show, which was devoted to auditions from Chicago last year.
