Rolling Stone examines vampire sex on "True Blood"

The new issue of Rolling Stone magazine will feature a story on the HBO hit "True Blood" and the joy of vampire sex.

"True Blood" creator Alan Ball says in the article that vampires are sex, and taking a swipe at the "Twilight" phenomenon, adds, "I don't get a vampire story about abstinence."

HBO gives "True Blood" another season

Only two episodes into Season 3 and HBO has seen enough: "True Blood" gets another one!

HBO announced today that the campy vampire series has been renewed for a 12-episode fourth season. It will begin production of new episodes early next year in Los Angeles, with an eye on premiering in the summer of 2011.

"True Blood" was created by Alan Ball and based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. The show stars Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgård (as Sookie and vampire Eric, pictured). Raleigh native Evan Rachel Wood, who stars as the Vampire Queen of Louisiana, was featured in Season 2 and will also make appearances in Season 3.
