What to Watch on Wednesday: "Ugly Betty" says goodbye

America's Next Top Model (8pm, The CW) - There's a photo shoot on the subway, and judge Andre Leon Talley (Vogue editor and Durham native) harshly criticizes one contestant's outfit.

Human Target (8pm, Fox) - In the first season finale, Chance's former boss (Armand Assante) tries to convince him to come back to his old job, which prompts Chance, Winston, and Guerrero to reminisce about how they all ended up working together.

The Middle (8:30pm, ABC) - Frankie and Mike eliminate their cable TV to cut down on expenses, but miss it more than they thought they would (NO KIDDING!).

American Idol (9pm, Fox) - Two contestants out of the final nine are eliminated tonight, plus last year's runner-up Adam Lambert performs "Whataya Want From Me."

Ugly Betty (10pm, ABC) - In the series finale, Betty tells Daniel about her future plans, Justin and Bobby try to convince Hilda that they should move to Manhattan, Amanda mourns the loss of a loved one, and Marc is discouraged by his romantic prospects.

In Plain Sight (10pm, USA)
- A BATF agent whom Mary has been protecting awakens from a three-year coma. Rita Moreno guest stars.

So You Think You Can Dance: The krumper looks like a winner

Lenni G. ogles and reports before the finale:

Great night of eye candy for this old lady with a theme of "shirts optional" for the guys. But I digress.

Kathryn and Ryan were first up, doing a Samba (tribal version) from Jason Gilkison.

Adam Lambert to perform on Letterman show tonight

Oh, will he or won't he? You'll have to tune in to see.

Adam Lambert is scheduled to perform on tonight's "Late Show with David Letterman."

In the wake of the AMA controversy, he could go safe, or since it's late night, the unapologetic glam rocker could kick it up a few notches.

Very opportune scheduling for Dave.

"Late Show" airs at 11:35pm on CBS.

Adam Lambert talks about the AMA controversy

This morning, "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert appeared on CBS' "The Early Show" to talk about his risque and controversial performance on Sunday night's American Music Awards.

If you're not up to speed, ABC got more than 1,500 complaints about the performance which featured Lambert kissing a man and shoving a dancer's face into his crotch.

That led to ABC's morning show "Good Morning America" canceling his appearance, and "The Early Show" swooping in to get the scoop from Lambert.

Though I'm not a fan of Lambert's choices during the performance, I thought he was pretty terrific this morning. In the age of the insincere apology after celebrities do wrong, Lambert was forthright, not apologizing, but acknowledging his mistakes.

Watch it yourself and see what you think.

What to Watch on Friday: Kelly Ripa's reality wedding show

Goode Family (8:30pm, ABC) - ABC moved this from Wednesdays to Fridays to get that big ratings bump from "Surviving Suburbia" at 8pm (which is not renewed for next season). Tonight the well-intentioned family hires some Latino gardeners to help with their organic garden after Helen hurts her back, only to discover they have unknowingly exploited the workers.

Masters of Reception (10pm, TLC) - The series opener of a new reality series following Robert and Jerry Frungillo, brothers who have been running a New Jersey wedding/catering company for over 30 years. Managing four separate facilities, the Frungillos can host up to ten weddings a day, so there's potential for lots of drama. The show is produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Conseulos. And you know the vibe you get watching the Manzo family  run The Brownstone on Bravo's "Real Housewives of New Jersey?" Ripa says this is different.

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - Talk about strange bedfellows: "20/20" interviews both Adam Lambert ("American Idol") and Glenn Beck (Fox News) on the same show.

Clay Aiken tossed from "American Idol" set?

Adrienne told us yesterday about how Clay Aiken slammed fellow "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert on his blog Thursday. If you didn't click through to the Gawker site to read the entire rant (which has now been deleted from Clay's blog), you may have missed some juicy backstory about Clay being tossed from the "American Idol" set when he showed up there recently to meet Lambert.

According to The Chicago Sun-Times, Aiken showed up at the "American Idol" set and . . .

Clay Aiken blasts "Idol" and Adam Lambert

Our guest bloggers shared what they thought of this season's "American Idol."

Now we can share what Clay Aiken thought.

Apparently, he wasn't pleased, and he posted negative remarks on his official blog about presumed frontrunner Adam Lambert, calling his performance of "Ring of Fire" "contrived, awful and slightly frightening!"

"American Idol": Glam Adam or Coffee-House Kris?

Guest blogger Claire Meyerhoff is back and writing about the finale pt. 1:

Blogging LIVE from the Ronald McDonald House of Durham…THIS is American Idol!

After weeks and months of auditions, scary contestants, a new judge, a guy named Anoop and a girl with tattoos, it’s down to the very last song-fest between a couple of cute guys who are very different. We’ve got glam Adam, sporting guyliner and alternating between sweet sounds
and high-pitched shrieks. Then there’s coffee-house Kris, the adorable underdog who we barely noticed “way back when” but really is a very pleasing musician with a lot of charm.

"American Idol": Danny and his pinchable cheeks go home

I’ll never understand why the result show needs to take up an hour because the part everyone wants to watch only takes about two minutes.
Maybe they just like to make me listen to music that I normally would not.

The show opens with a few cast-members of “The Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” to tell us how the American Idol desk is on its way to the Smithsonian Museum. I am super pumped about the release of this movie so I do not mind that they are in the way of me finding out the results.

"American Idol": Love you Danny. Now Leave.

Guest blogger Amber Wynn gives us the scoop on the last three standing:

American Idol celebrates its 300th episode in true 300 fashion with headlocks, slaps and punches amongst the judges that would make even Gerard Butler tremble.

So, it’s down to three! Adam, Danny and Kris have the chance to wow the audience twice; once with a song chosen by the judges and again with a song that they have chosen for themselves.
