What to Watch on Sunday: Sorkin's 'Newsroom' and AFI's tribute to Shirley MacLaine

AFI Life Achievement Award 2012: Shirley MacLaine (9pm, TV Land) - Meryl Streep presents Oscar winner Shirley MacLaine with the 40th AFI Life Achievement Award, which honors her contributions to film. Guests include Barbra Streisand and MacLaine's brother, Warren Beatty.

Falling Skies (9pm, TNT) - The unit moves into an airport hanger, but the relocation could cause health problems. Elsewhere, the renegade Berserkers scheme to cast out Tom.

Drop Dead Diva (9pm, Lifetime) - The producer of a reality makeover show is sued and Parker is shocked when his son appears at the firm. Meanwhile, Teri helps Stacy open her new business.

The Newsroom (10pm, HBO) -The premiere of a new drama from Aaron Sorkin ("West Wing" "Social Network") set at a cable news network. In the first episode, popular "News Night" anchor Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) returns to work after a public meltdown to find most of his staff has jumped ship, but new hires help steer the show when news of a catastrophe breaks. Also stars Sam Waterston and Jane Fonda. Adrienne has a review.

The Great Escape (10pm, TNT) - Fom the producers of "The Amazing Race,"
a new reality competition series in which teams of everyday people must overcome obstacles and dodge pursuers to escape from tight situations at notable locations. Tonight's first episode features an escape from Alcatraz.

Longmire (10pm, A&E) - A fisherman discovers the bodies of two murder victims, including a team from the Cheyenne reservation.
