Postgame: thoughts from Duke's 73-68 win over Ohio State

DURHAM—Another day, another win over a top-teams opponent for the Blue Devils.

It's not even December, and Duke has beaten three top-five teams (then-No. 3 Kentucky, then-No. 2 Louisville and No. 4 Ohio State). That's a feat only three other Duke teams have accomplished in a season. The most recent team to beat three top-five squads in the same season was the 1998-99 Blue Devils (No. 2 Michigan State, No. 3 Kentucky, No. 4 Maryland).

Enough history, though. Here are a few points from Wednesday's win over Ohio State:

DURHAM—Quinn Cook and Mason Plumlee combined for the top play on Sportscenter thanks to a second-half ally-oop in No. 2 Duke's 73-68 win over No. 4 Ohio State Wednesday.

It looks like Cook may have thrown the pass a bit too high. After the game, though, he said he knew it would be fine.

"I knew that Mason could get it," he said.

It was more than just a flashy moment. That dunk was actually a pivital part of Duke's second-half comeback

Burke leads No. 3 Michigan to a 79-72 win over N.C. State

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — N.C. State coach Mark Gottfried wanted his team to live up to the "Challenge" part of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

After falling behind by 14 points in the second half to No. 3 Michigan, N.C. State did respond, but it was too late. The 18th-ranked Wolfpack dropped a 79-72 road game to the sharper Wolverines.

No. 3 Michigan got playmaking from its slick point guard, (11 assists and 18 points from Trey Burke), post scoring from its athletic forward (11 points for Glenn Robinson III), and 3-pointers from its sharpshooter (20 points from Nik Stauskas).

Duke vs. Ohio State set for Nov. 28 at 9:30 pm

Duke vs. Ohio State will headline the second day of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge with a 9:30 p.m. tipoff on Nov. 28. This is the second year for the Blue Devils-Buckeyes matchup—last season, then-No. 3 Duke traveled to Columbus and left with an 85-63 defeat at the hands of No. 2 Ohio State.

When the media kept asking Mike Krzyzewski after the game to comment on the play of specific Buckeyes, he told them "I wasn't focused on each of their guys; I was trying not to lose by 30."

This year, a Jared Sullinger-less Ohio State will come to Cameron, where Duke has won an NCAA-best 94 consecutive home games against non-conference opponents.

Game times set for annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge

The ACC will try to end a three-year skid when its annual challenge against the Big Ten resumes Nov. 27. The ACC won the first 10 series.

Game times were released today:

Matchups set for ACC-Big Ten Challenge

The ACC got smashed in the annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge last year with eight losses in 12 games. Since winning the first 10 Challenges, the ACC has dropped the past three.

North Carolina and N.C. State will have to restore the conference's honor with road wins over teams projected to open the season in the top 10. UNC will play at Indiana on Tuesday, Nov. 27 and N.C. State will play at Michigan on the same day.
