There's news both good and bad about the upcoming Hopscotch Music Festival. Starting with the bad news, Outkast rapper Big Boi will not perform Sept. 6 due to scheduling issues -- a blow since he's the biggest name on the schedule. But the good news is that Big Boi will do a makeup show Sept. 21 at Raleigh's Memorial Auditorium, and 1,000 tickets for that show will be available free to people with Hopscotch wristbands or tickets.
Meanwhile, the Sept. 6 City Plaza main-stage show that Big Boi was to have headlined will go on as scheduled with North Carolina expatriates Future Islands, Durham band Gross Ghost and two acts replacing Big Boi: Holy Ghost! and A-Trak. Says Hopscotch director Greg Lowenhagen, "We feel like we've made as much lemonade out of the situation as we could."
