"Kell on Earth": The Anti-Rachel Zoe Project
Submitted by adriennj on 02/01/2010 - 09:00
Since losing "Project Runway" to Lifetime, Bravo has struggled with finding a fashion-related competition reality show. (I have a feeling we won't be seeing another season of "Launch My Line.")
It's done better going behind the scenes. If you've ever seen an episode of "The Rachel Zoe Project" you've witnessed its delightfully shallow, neurotic and extravagant wonders.
With "Kell on Earth" (tonight at 10) we sort of get the East Coast version of Zoe's show. Kelly Cutrone -- if you watch MTV's "The City" you've seen her in action -- is an owner of People's Revolution, a PR firm that handles fashions shows.

Final 'Lost' countdown: 1 ...
Submitted by lchavez on 02/01/2010 - 08:00
There are a gazillion unanswered questions going into the final season of "Lost" on ABC. I said three seasons ago I'd be happy if Lindelcuse explained 80 percent of it by the end of the series.
Still, let's focus on Season 6. (STOP NOW if you haven't watched the show in awhile and plan to catch up.)
To countdown to the last season premiere ever (waah!) of "Lost" ... six story lines I think should be addressed by the series finale.

Verdict on Jon Hamm's SNL show: Excellent!
Submitted by brookecain on 01/31/2010 - 10:56
Whaddaya know. Last night's "Saturday Night Live" was about as solid as any complete episode I've seen in ages. I believe in my soul that Jon Hamm was working extra hard to make up for the god-awful hosting job by his "Mad Men" co-star January Jones.
Hamm's opening monologue had him reviewing some of the projects from early in his career, from lame teen sitcoms to a QVC stint and even a performance on Def Comedy Jam. The joke being that he pretty much played Don Draper in all those shows, even as he delivered the punchline from a dirty Redd Foxx stand-up bit.
Other favorites had Hamm as Scott Brown, the distractingly hot new Senator from Massachusetts, and Hamm in a commercial with musical guest Michael Bublé hawking their new joint venture, the "Hamm and Bublé" (pronounced bubbly) restaurant.
Check out some of the clips below.

Emmy-winning actor arrested in armed bank break-in
Submitted by brookecain on 01/30/2010 - 17:37
This is one of those "are you freaking kidding me?" stories: actor Rip Torn was arrested last night during an armed bank break-in.
Torn was arrested for breaking into the Litchfield Savings Bank in Salisbury, CT., where he lives, after cops responded to an alarm at the bank and found Torn inside, drunk and with a loaded handgun.
Torn is known for many roles including the hilarious talk show producer Arthur ("Artie") on HBO's "The Larry Sanders Show," and NBC head Don Geist on NBC's "30 Rock." In fact, Torn was nominated for six Emmys for his role on "The Larry Sanders Show," winning the award in 1996. He was also nominated for an Emmy for his "30 Rock" role in 2008. In all, Torn has been nominated for Emmys nine times and for an Academy Award once (in 1984 for his supporting role in "Cross Creek").
Torn has been charged with carrying a firearm while intoxicated, carrying a pistol without a permit, first-degree criminal trespass, first-degree burglary, and third-degree criminal mischief. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Torn's previous brushes with the law include drunk driving charges in Connecticut and New York.
Charlie Sheen's wife healing in North Carolina
Submitted by brookecain on 01/30/2010 - 12:40
According to The Associated Press, Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller is currently recuperating in a North Carolina wellness center.
The wife of the "Two and Half Men" star was hospitalized last week for a serious infection following oral surgery, and it has been widely rumored that she is now in rehab for alcohol or drug addiction.
Entertainment Tonight reports that Mueller is at Two Dreams Outer Banks rehab center, but Mueller's lawyer says she is "definitely not in a place for drug or alcohol rehabilitation."
What to Watch on Saturday: Miss America and a side of Hamm
Submitted by brookecain on 01/30/2010 - 09:52
Miss America 2010 (8pm, TLC) - Ratings for the Miss America pageant have been in a steady decline for years now. Do we care about this any longer? If you do, this year's pageant is hosted by Mario Lopez and airs live from the Planet Hollywood Casino in Las Vegas. Judges include gymnast Shawn Johnson, actress Vivica A. Fox, and broadcaster Rush Limbaugh.
Lying to be Perfect (9pm, Lifetime) - A dowdy magazine editor (Poppy Montgomery) leads a double life as anonymous online advice columnist. But her secret identity is threatened when her friends want to make a pact to lose weight together, using the advice of her alter ego. Based on the book, "The Cinderella Pact."
Saturday Night Live (11:30, NBC) - "Mad Men's" Jon Hamm is back to host again, and I'll watch pretty much anything with Jon Hamm. Apparently, he has shaved his beard. Not sure how I feel like that because I was kinda diggin' it. Although, gun to my head, he's probably more handsome without it. Sigh. Musical guest is Michael Buble.
Austin City Limits (Midnight, UNC-TV) - Steve Earle and Kris Kristofferson. Austin native Earle performs from his 2009 cd "Townes" and Kristofferson plays from his 2009 cd "Closer to the Bone."
