Not sure what to say here...

I hope the fact you're reading this means you found our new location at blogs.newsobserver.com/canes/home.

It looks like yesterday's post on Gleason/Ruutu and the ongoing discussion about it will have to move over here. I thought I had added that as a post on our new blog server. Apparently not, which is why we're feeding you Michael Leighton's signing as "hot news." And before you ask, all the old RSS links are broken too.

Hopefully, from here on out, you'll be able to find all your Canes news here. But this transition hasn't gone nearly as smoothly as anyone would have liked, and for that I apologize. To be quite honest, I'm astonished at how badly this has gone.

Check back tomorrow for more news on the Canes. I hope.

So was all the old content

So was all the old content destroyed?

Charlotte?

After reading that the sports editor for the N&O will be Charlotte-based, I'm a little concerned. I live about 40 minutes from Charlotte, but frequently make the 2+ hour trek to Raleigh for games. And I visit LSB often to catch up on the latest Canes news. There is very little (if any) Canes news in the Charlotte area; heck, even the Cup Final was barely news here.
I sincerely hope that whatever changes are made do not affect the breadth and depth of coverage that I'm so accustomed to from Luke and the folks in Raleigh. We Caniacs outside of Raleigh are very appreciative of their efforts.

Old Posts

Hey Luke is there a link somewhere to the old blog posts? It was nice to be able to go back and search through the old posts.

Commenting

I'm glad that I can post without signing up/in!

LSB

Luke, don't worry about it. I will continue to read LSB undeterred. I probably check it 8 times a day when I'm at work! Thanks.

RSS

Actually, on this new system the RSS feeds are much simpler than the confusing HTML jargon that they were on the old system. The addresses are http://blogs.newsobserver.com/{blog id}/rss/feed/

So the Canes blog is http://blogs.newsobserver.com/canes/rss/feed , the ACC blog is http://blogs.newsobserver.com/accnow/rss/feed , and so on. It's a five-second fix on most news readers.

That said, yes, things probably could have gone a little better -- but at least something's here. Consider the alternative...broken links everywhere and no content once you finally find the right address. Shudder.

By the way, the Hot News says that the Canes traded for Rod Brind'Amour. Any news on that?

New blog space

Luke:

I found it, but thanks for being upfront about the relocation of this blog site. Too many people would try to spin this, so it takes a good guy to 'fess up!

Keep up the good work on the Canes. I can't believe how often I come to this site to learn what is going on.

I guess I have to pull out

I guess I have to pull out my military time watch to tell what time you make posts now...

Testing 1-2-3

Thought I'd help out by testing the comment feature.

It's not like this is a big week or anything. It's not like we're going to trade a guy like Erik Cole or Tuomo Ruutu this weekend. No big deal.

I'm trying to ignore the fact that Dreger just mentioned Justin Williams as possible trade bait. I never even seriously considered that. But I guess if we want that defenseman, we'll have to pay for him.

Having said that, I hope we get a guy a lot more solid than Joni Pitkanen if we give up JW.
