Three prospects re-sign

Bookmark and Share

Three of Carolina's restricted free agents at the minor-league level agreed to new one-year contracts Monday: forwards Pat Dwyer and Joe Jensen and defenseman Mark Flood. Only Jensen played for the Hurricanes last season, appearing in six games.

Dwyer will make $55,000 in the AHL and $500,000 in the NHL; Jensen will make $50,000 in the AHL and $522,500 in the NHL; and Flood will make $60,000 in the AHL and $500,000 in the NHL.

Hope Flood works out...

He's obviously much younger, but Derrick Walser, the guy we traded for him, just came off a really nice AHL season: 16-29-45-+6 in 77 games, 2 G in 9 games in the NHL...or twice as many as Glen Wesley had in 78 games.

Hedican...

Luke,

Speaking of free agents, any news on where Hedican is signing?  I hadn't seen anything mentioning him.  Any contact with his agent on some possible teams?

Nothing other than...

He's moving to CA and wants to sign with one of the teams there or at least out west.

Hedican in No. California

Based on the desire to move to the SF area, you'd have to believe #1 option would have been the Sharks, but it looks like they went in different directions on filling out their D corps this July (Rob Blake from LAK,  Dan Boyle from TB, re-signed Ehroff).  LA Kings perhaps?

Great...

Assuming Letowski is gone this only leaves Brandon Nolan (RFA) as unigned, and some sort of Salary dumping trade.
