From Talking Points

Scott Walker escaped a suspension for his punch to Aaron Ward's face late in Game 5, but it had as much to do with Ward's actions as Walker's.

Ward had exchanged shoves with Matt Cullen and Walker before Walker threw a punch that caught Ward in the left eye, as Ward stood with his hands at his sides.

The officials, Tim Peel and Brad Watson, assessed Walker an instigator penalty, which in the final five minutes of a game carries an automatic one-game suspension. But the league ruled Monday that Walker and Ward were engaged in an altercation and rescinded the suspension.

Greetings to all

I like Skyliners remarks this morning. They serve to remind us all of 2 very important things...and no i don't mean tonights game either. I am refering to :

1. Our families. And even though there are times when members of our imediate or distant family members are a royal pain, for the most part they are ( for the most part) our valued treasure in our lives.

2. is our and our loved one's health & well fare...no matter where we live or have lived, all of us know or have known people and family members who have serious health issuses and sadder still some have died because of those health issues. So while we all may have different ideas or views of who is or isn't this or that. But let us all remained focused on what ought to be really truly important things, situations and people in our lives...after all there are other teams in the NHL,NFL, MLB besides Carolina & Boston you know...

Have a great day, make use of what you were given for positive things today..after all when it is all said and done...it really isn't all about YOU...now is it ?

Go Somebody !! ( gee how " politically correct" was that ??? )

CornholeTheFish or

CornholeTheFish or JumpTheShark or whatever your name is...just promise us all in here one thing...be a man enough to come back in here and take your lumps like a real man if your team goes down tonight or Thursday...through all the trash talking and name calling and childish acts you have displayed...at least show up and take your lumps in the end...Im willing to bet you run and hide and turn off that computer you so bravely hide behind in the event of a series loss...but time will tell...

Dumb

Easily the dumbest post I have ever seen on any hockey blog, pokimano.

I doubt you'll be here when all is said and done...

Hey, I've been here all along. After each Bruins loss. When it looked as though we were done. When we were at our lowest point, having lost 3 straight.

I gave the Canes props for their play during this time. I didn't run away. I've proven myself in this series. You've yet to prove anything. And I know that, should the Bs somehow win the series, or even just win game 6 tonight, you won't give them any props. Because you're a hippocrite. You'll make any number of excuses: The refs were unfair, the Bs were cheap, etc & etc. It's always some slight against the canes when they lose. Why don't you man up in this series.

Hate to say this

but I have your back on this one Sharkbreath. You, while abbrasive and a name-caller (you-me-same!?!) bring facts with you on each visist. And while each of us always support our team and stick together with our fellow fans, you have been here from the beginning and given props to the Canes when due. I almost like you...but I hate the Bruins this year. GO CANES!!!!

Northern Trailers..

Most of the houses up north for 200,000 look like trailers..with basements.

Y'all should know

Y'all in NC should know all about double-wides. Are there anything BUT double-wides down there?

Park Models

Yes, there are versions other than double-wides. They have the new Park models. Kind of looks like a small cape.

But a trailer nonetheless.

Scott Walker vs. Andrew Alberts

Look it up on youtube. I do not mind Conboy losing a fight and taking a bruin to the box as well.

All we heard about was how much of a tough guy alberts was...Walker fights if he needs to.

Alberts a Tough Guy?

He wasn't when he was with the Bs. I believe he also wasn't known for his fisticuffs with Philly this year, either. Big, strong defensman, but not much of a fighter. He did throw down, but not on a regular basis.

What I Think

is not really Germain to the series. As a whole, the officiating for this series has been poor, and very inconsistent. If anything, have the NHL fix that, and then, maybe then one side or the other of this topic could or would have a leg of credibility to stand on. Was Walker right ? No, but i understand the frustration.

Go Canes !!

Conboy

How is the human speedbag - Tim Conboy feeling today ? He got his butt kicked twice last night. His face should be sorer than Ward's.

That was awesome to see...

Mark Stuart hardly ever drops the gloves. I can't remember the last fight he had. Then he pummels Conboy in 4.3 seconds. Conboy had no chance. I guess he didn't learn his lesson earlier in the game, when Thornton owned him in 3.2 seconds.

What a dope. You think he'd at least be smart and go after one of the Bs impact players. Maybe coax Savard or Chara to go, get them in the box for five.

He's not the sharpest blade on the ice.

Stuart

Stuart had 4 in 08-09 and 4 in 07-08, so I'd agree he's not a heavy but knows what he's doing. He's got 181 PIM's in 196 games with 28 points. Conboy will fight pretty much fight anyone, I'd say both fights he lost, but not pummeled, he lost his balance in both.

Coax Savard or Chara - give your head a shake, Marc Savard hasn't been in a fight since 02-03 (2 total fights in the NHL) and Chara's not going to take the tradeoff. The only impact player that will fight on Boston is Lucic and I think he will be getting speed bagged tonight by Scott Walker.

Hey, GoShelf your useless analysis....

Savard fought Neidermeyer this season. Not much of a fight. But Savard's been chippy this year and isn't going to back down. So, if your boy did his homework, he may have been able to goad Savard. But, as I said, he's plain dumb (and can't fight). I love how there's always an excuse: "he lost his balance". Yeah, okay, you go with that.

It's more likely that Thornton will put the hurtin on your boy. But any number of Bs players would have little problem getting your boy "off balance".

Overlook-The-

Overlook-The- Tadpole

As Ronald Reagan said, There you go again." This time you paint Conboy as a "dope." Seems you can't begin a thought process unless it is laced with name calling. In your recent previous posts you have called different individuals who disagreed with you a "nit wit, moron, hick, a...hole, uneducated gypsy, a know-nothing," to list a few, and advised one to "get a life." It seems you believe everyone else you come in contact with is out of step except you. Really Mr. Shark, we're going to begin calling you Overlook-The-Tadpole because you represent yourself as so small minded and self serving. "Boy I'm right and everyone else in the world is wrong." Your venom indicates you hate and disrespect diverging thoughts. The truth more likely is you don't like yourself very much and I suspect you have a lot of company in that regard. Man, I'll bet your fellow workers just love to be around your cheerful and upbeat self. Hockey just isn't that important that one need to defame fellow human being. Oh, I know, we have to pretend it is important and I do love the Hurricanes and root like crazy for them,  but in the overall scheme of daily living it simply doesn't call for the type of verbal abuse you heap on people. You might try the more sophisticated battle of wits and phrase-making which would make for more readable posts. We forgive your apparent lack of restraint, now you forgive yourself. Insults work two ways, you know. Someone could say to you "since you continue to post we're sure of one thing...the electricity is still on in the trailer park."  If a point is made, people would probably enjoy going  back and forth with you on a civilized basis.  Otherwise, you seem to believe your posts are finding their way to the trash bin. Probably, and for good reason.  Hope you're having a good day, but by now surely someone has dared to disagree and you're ready to fire off your mouth before the head is loaded. Oh, and hold the insults. I'm not interested !!!

Ummm...

I'd have some new and interesting names for you, too, but I promised the Blog Master that I would forevermore refrain.

Still, you should get a life. You complain that you don't approve, and yet you read every single one of my posts, instead of skipping over when you see that it's me.

Which leads me to one conclusion: you are infatuated with me and what I have to say. Thanks so much for your patronage.

Good morning Mr. Shark. I'm

Good morning Mr. Shark. I'm sure you have names for me, especially since you seem to have them for everyone else, the latest being "knucklehead" and "hyppocrite." Don't you understand that intelligent people talk about ideas, smart people talk about things and uninformed people talk about people? My message to you was that it is entirely possible to disagree without being disagreeable. You can decorate the corners of your conversation with thought-provoking comments without attendant insults. I love one liner jabs, so long as they are delivered without malicious intent, which is quite different from out-and-out name calling. That should have learned in a college debate class. Tom Joad, the protagonist in John Steinbeck's classic, "The Grapes of Wrath," has a great line which says, "I'm just trying to get along without shoving anyone." There's room for all of and everyone's opinion...no reason to shove.  As for me "getting a life" as you suggest (come on now, did you invent that 'get a life line', my life is quite fulfilled; my lovely actress/ artist wife's cancer is in remission, I'm writing my 5th book, the grandchildren are healthy, all is right with the world. Now go and behave yourself and try not to live down to our expectations. Oh, and as far as me being "infatuated" with you; well, I'm not going out with you unless you wear that wig and high heels. Now you be a good boy or no milk and cookies!

Hey, Prof. Skyline

First of all, I was unaware that your actress/wife was battling cancer. I sincerely hope she beats it and goes on to have a full and happy life.

Second, you seem quick to berate me for my comments, and yet whenever it comes from the otherside, you're mysteriously quiet. Hmmm. Hippocritcal behavior?

And as for quotes, I have only this to say about your analysis of this series:

"You have a keen sense for the merely obvious."

--The Wizard of Oz

Somehow....

....I think my name is gonna come up in Sharky's response....

Hockeyhick

trust me...it isn't wasn't nor will it ever be worth losing sleep, worrying, or even giving IT a second thought...as one thought is one too many...

Go Canes !!

Hey Hickey!

Long time no write....

I believe I have not personally insulted you since our pact last week.

Good luck tonight.

Now go make you some barbeque (not an insult. I love BBQ).

Funny you should say that....

I actually made home made, eastern NC style BBQ last weekend for the first time. Took 15 hours and 18 beers. Used fresh cut hickory. Ohh maan, was it good!
