Canes general manager Jim Rutherford said today that changes needed to be made to "strengthen our team" but said a coaching staff shakeup was not one of them.
The Canes are coming off a 5-1 loss to the Washington Capitals and a 5-2 beating by the Dallas Stars, both at home at the RBC Center. They had a horrendous third period against the Caps and appeared listless coming out against the Stars on Sunday in falling to 5-6-3.
"After losses like that, we don't like to talk about them too soon because it's too emotional," Rutherford said. "Obviously we're very disappointed in the last two games. We will get together over the course of the day and discuss what we need to do to get back on track this week."
On Friday, Canes owner Peter Karmanos Jr. strongly praised coach Paul Maurice and his staff. Rutherford said that in watching practices, he believes the staff has had the team "well-prepared" for games.
"They've done a good job," Rutherford said. "The easiest thing when you've lost a couple of games as bad as we lost them is to start pointing at the coach or the coaches. It takes everybody when it comes time to win, and it takes everybody when it comes time to lose. We need to get back to work and get back to playing to our team playing the style of game it did when we were winning games.
"Now, if we're talking again in a six- or-seven game losing streak, I'll probably be in a different frame of mind and answer those (coaching) questions differently. Let's get back on track. If not, I'll look at all the situations differently."
The St. Louis Blues on Sunday night made a coaching change, firing Davis Payne and bringing in Ken Hitchcock. The Blues are 6-7-0.
Of the losses to the Caps and Stars, Rutherford said, "You can view these last two games and say we needed to play better, and we did. But both (the Caps and Stars) played well and we were beaten by two good teams. Both are real good teams and played good games."
Canes captain Eric Staal has just six points in 14 games and no even-strength goals. Rutherford said that Staal is not injured and that he was confident the star center would soon return to form.
"I don't think he's gotten any breaks at all," Rutherford said. "He's had some good games with nothing to show for it. It's just a matter of time before he gets some breaks and gets going and gets on a roll.
"We need Eric to be our best player, but I'm not overly concerned."
Rutherford said the return of injured forward Jussi Jokinen, one of the team's most versatile players, also should help. Jokinen missed the last two games with a leg injury.
"We do not have a lot of margin for error," he said. "When we're going, we're a good team and can compete with anybody. When we don't, it makes it a lot more difficult.
"Losing a key player like Jussi has had an effect, but you have to play through it. Good teams figure out a way to play through it. We need to do a better job of that."

Question for JR
Tue, 11/08/2011 - 12:14 — WAStoutSo Mo is good as long as we lose 5 in a row and win one to reset the count? Or win 3 and lose 3? That will not get us in the playoffs either.
How many do-overs is this coach gonna get? Sheesh.
IF the groceries are good the cook sucks
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 22:52 — angrymikeI figured this team would be lucky to finish 8th after JR wouldn't fire Mo in the spring after he took a young team that was coming together and feeling good at the ASG break last year and did what he always does, made them so afraid to make a mistake that they squeezed the sawdust out of graphite sticks down the stretch. On one hand the Canes sense of loyalty is endearing, the man did suffer a life changing injury while in their employ, but continually over-paying for players like LaRose ( sorry but why is he worth 3x more than Dwyer) and keeping Paul who has never been anything but a .500 coach in such a critical role says to me that making the playoffs simply isn't priority number one. Which doesn't make a damn bit of sense because they told us in 2006 that every sold out playoff game nets $1m in revenue and they never stop banging the budget drum. The other shoe that told me this was going to be lost season was when JR was at TPC golfing on July 1-3 while the Sabres and Rangers were getting better. They finished 9th by a point, Jersey was the best team in the league after they got back to being Jersey in late Dec, Toronto was coming together with a coach that Mo doesn't compare to, and Buffalo and the NYR got better. How much hope was I supposed to have? Had JR had the extra revenue from 2-6 playoff games he might have chosen to spend money differently in June and early July. I would have a lot of trouble respecting the fan-boy opinion that Cole was worth $4m/16 but had they made an aggressive offer of $3.5/10.5 in early June then they probably would have taken the only player in the league Eric Staal can apparently thrive with off the market. Regardless, they simply could have chosen to move on and spend the money they slotted for Cole more aggressively for a solid two way forward like Leino who is essentially the same player only younger and without a major injury history. He had so many options for adding 2-3 players at the $4-5m salary slot by using the money spent on Joni, Kaberle, Stewart, and Pony, yet that is exactly what he spent at least 25% of his budget on. Somewhere between $10-12m/yr tied up in a guy who leaves his man alone in the slot in front of Ward, a 32 yr old defenseman who has nothing to play for and just played 100 games, and 2 small market budget power forwards that have a 1 in 10 chance at a career year if everything goes perfectly instead of a guy like Leino, one solid stay at home defender, and playing kids like Dalpe and Joslin that every other knowledgeable hockey insider I read and hear think have top 6 forward top 4 defenseman potential. Yet it's total sacrilege if I were go on the radio and suggest the man has made as many poor moves as great ones and his greatest ones get smaller in the mirror everyday. If he is the elite level GM as some suggest then why can't this team make the playoffs consistently? We aren't talking about baseball here. And we aren't talking about winning cups every 3-4 years. We are talking about finishing 8th out of 16 teams so we can roll the dice with the world class goalie who is in his prime we are wasting. Maybe PK came here because he knew the area was growing and there would be a nice blend of old and new fans with which to grow a base. Or maybe PK came here because having fans new to the game and transplants who didn't grow up Canes fans would afford them the opportunity to not overspend their self imposed budget while the franchise appreciates in value without the pressure of having to succeed. Either way the suggestion that any of us should not hold the highly paid professionals in our community to the same standard we hold our college age sons is insulting jackassery at it's finest. The RBC is far from the loudest house in the NHL today. It's far more inviting than hostile and that's simply because apathy is setting in and who knows what's next when that happens. It always one step forward and one step back. They couldn't capatalize on 2002 with another playoff appearance for 3 seasons, couldn't build on 2006, and now don't seem able to build on the pride and excitement that those of us who love this game, team, and city felt last January. Either way, I personally wish the Canes would skip the dollar dogs, the bouncey tents, the transplanted bar bands, and all the family fun BS, until enough collective focus is spent on the reason they play the game, and the Caniacs who love playoff hockey come with some hostility next week toward the Flyers, Sabres, and Leafs. And bring your Mo Must Go sign. I will have mine.

Mon, 11/07/2011 - 19:13 — ghartdavisThis team is starting to follow the Thrashers pattern in Atlanta. At 5-6-3 we are well on our way to missing the playoffs again. What happens if you miss the playoffs 4 times in 5 years? The answer is that attendence declines and we end up in some little Canadian city. This team is already giving up on Maurice. The mighty mights at intermission played harder and with more focus this weekend. After two plus years of this we need new leadership. There is no All Star Game excitement to salvage this season. We actually have to win.
Mighty Mites!
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 19:35 — WAStoutDude, appreciate that comment...I know sarcasm, but my son was one of those....and I was thinking the same thing but didn't say it.....
Speaking of intermission....I'm curious what is being said during the intermissions by Mo?!?! I would expect a GOOD COACH would have his team either playing a different game strategy and/or having them fired up for the next period. I am yet to see such a change. If anything, they play steadily worse.
To me, this is what makes a GOOD COACH. Where I can actually see a change after intermissions. What do the Canes do today? Just sharpen their skates and talk about the new place to eat in town?
JR talks about how he watches practice and says our COACH has them well prepared for the next game. DOES HE MAKE MID-GAME ADJUSTMENTS???
Nope.
That's where Mo fails as well as JR.
Good luck JR. With B-ball starting, your attendance is only going to get worse. Keep your BFF and move to Canada....see how THEY result to your bumbling.
Complacent team = complacent fans
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 17:05 — hurricanes17Ever since Maurice returned for his second stint w/the Canes, he has gradually and single-handedly sucked the life out of this franchise. This is what happens when the GM hires and rehires his BFF. It is difficult to muster up the excitement to even go to the games. Numerous fans feel this way; just look at our dwindling attendance numbers this year. Sure, the economy is dismal, but our team is mediocre at best. This type of performance is not going to sell tickets. While the organization continues to sing Maurice's praises, our fan base is taking notice. I was furious when they brought him back, but tolerating consecutive seasons of subpar hockey is inexplicable!
So, Rutherford is looking to change the team in terms of players. Who will be the sacrificial lamb this time? Given JR's recent track record, it will most likely be someone who actually contributes on a nightly basis like Allen or Sutter (see: Cole, Erik; Whitney, Ray; or White, Ian). I love the Hurricanes, but being a fan is almost like helplessly watching a family member intentionally waste away to nothing. It is heart-wrenching to attend games with the Canes on the losing end of 5-1/5-2 decisions. Laviolette, the coach who brought Lord Stanley to Carolina, was given a much shorter leash. It's time to hold Maurice to the same standards.
Good points. It looks like
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 19:26 — rmmeliGood points. It looks like Rutherford and Karmanos think that if they say it enough times that the fan base will actually believe them that Maurice is a great coach.
Trades, Staal, and Status of Canes
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 16:21 — ptuckerI agree that a trade may not be the answer, and I still firmly believe that a coaching change is the most pressing need for this team at the current time. The locker room seems to be fading quickly from frustration, etc., and the most common cause of this is when the players no longer have faith in the coaching staff. When the coach says on Saturday that more emotion and fire is needed and that this is the focus for the Sunday game, and then the team plays a more listless effort in the Sunday game, it is only too obvious that his message is not effective......at all!
MO is a coach that absolutely will not change, regardless of circumstance, and because of that will nearly always coach .500 teams. Just look at the history. His unwillingness to give some of the young, skilled players a chance is atrocious and actually destroys their development and confidence.
I must defend Eric Staal yet again. Before I do, I will absolutely agree that these last 2 games have been 2 of his worst in terms of attitude, leadership, etc. That being said, look at the facts. He has been an almost point per game player for every year of his career, and all of those years except for 05-06 have been with subpar wingers on his line (sorry, but Erik Cole was too inconsistent/injured to be considered). He is expected to take on top defensive pairings on his own, and some of you still expect that he should have unlimited, super-human energy to get down the ice and play defense after being banged on for 35 seconds trying his best to generate something in the offensive zone (which is impossible if his linemates can't even get in position for a simple pass). He also has to swallow his frustration with a pitiful coaching staff and ownership that won't give him playmakers, and be the better man and try to lead this team. That's a lot for anyone to handle. Imagine if you were ordered to cut down a tree that was 35" in diameter, and you were given an 16" chainsaw and told to work hard and do the best you can. You would probably walk away from the job site!
Trade-wise, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing T. Kaberle traded to Siberia for a block of Ice. I didn't like the signing when it happened, and my fears have been validated. I agree with others that it would be difficult to trade LaRose or Dwyer given their salaries, but why do we need 2 of the same player? Honestly, I'm not sure that any trade is necessary at all. We have players currently on the roster and in Charlotte that could be appropriately slotted, and I TRULY believe there would be a noticeable difference in the skill and chemistry of the lines and the entire team concept. I hope that someone in the organization will push for changes such as this, and that this team can come together and start playing solid hockey. Go Canes!
Staal'd
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 22:22 — lbloomerI would love to say you are right about Eric Staal but unfortunately he is terrible this year. It's not just one game or two. In 14 game this season he has 5 points (3G, 2A) and is -16. He is currently the worst player in the NHL in terms of +/- (See NHL.com player stats). They say he's not injured but what kind of excuse can he have when your normally point per game all star is now -1/game? He's got to turn this around because the Canes tend to go as Eric goes.
FYI - If I am looking at the stats right, if Eric has 5 pts and is -16 that means he was on the ice for at least 21 goals scored against the Hurricanes. That's 21 out of 47 total goals against - which means he has been on the ice for almost 45% of the goals scored. Ouch.
Thats incorrect. 4 of his
Tue, 11/08/2011 - 16:50 — HurricanesUNC12Thats incorrect.
4 of his points came on the powerplay. Those points therefore do not represent a +/- statistic. Just as if he is on the ice for a shorthanded goal or the other teams powerplay goal no +/- is registered.
However, your overall point is correct that he has likely been on the ice for a substantial portion of the goals against. But isn't the reasoning Maurice has given for playing LaRose et al on Staal's line is for back-checking/defensive zone pressure? Doesn't appear to be working..

Mon, 11/07/2011 - 21:38 — mokimanoBest post and analysis by a country mile...congrats my friend on breaking it down correctly and precisely!
MO's unwillingness to change or adapt is his biggest fault...how a hockey lifer like JR cannot see that is beyond comprehension. JR must at some point realize that his friendship with MO has to be placed aside for the survival of the Canes. This team is broken under MO...MO has had a veteran team, he has a younger team, he has had a rebuilt team, nothing works with MO behind the bench...they still laugh in Toronto at his body of work up there. He lives in a fantasy world of bulletproof protection with JR and PK...any other owner would have sent MO packing years ago. The fans will speak with their wallets...MO is a joke...the franchise is a joke...the loyalty and nepotism of this org has destroyed all credibility. I would rather lose the team than continue to watch Maurice and JR bumble their way through another losing season.

Trades aren't a magic pill
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 15:37 — lewpulsStaal, when he's right, when he's interested (as in the playoffs), can carry the team. How many people can do that? We have two (Staal and Ward), and maybe Skinner will be one too. Every team needs guys like that. So trading Staal doesn't make a lot of sense, we're most unlikely to get a similar talent in return.
Reduce his minutes, sure. If we give him third line wings, give him third line minutes.
Guys who can carry the team aren't necessarily captains. Cole could have been captain, maybe then he'd still be here... But not.
Trading is the fan's "hope springs eternal". Somehow we'll get a lot better with a trade? Not likely, especially not getting a first line wing.
Mo's style works in the playoffs, when there's no need to motivate. It doesn't work as well in the regular season. And he's poison for developing young players. So whether he's a good coach or not, overall, he needs to go.
Why the First Line?
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 14:51 — oldpoliticalsIt seems there is a general dislike about how the weekend turned out with fans and casual observers. Other Canes forums sprout much of the same thing as seen here. I certainly have been disappointed. What I don't understand is why the first line, presumable the "Staal Line", is only one third staffed. Staal is clearly a first line center but are the others first line wingers or better suited elsewhere? Perhaps there have been no first line wingers with Staal in many years with the exception of Cole. But then again, Cole is in richer pastures and Montreal might regret that big contract. However, the Hurricanes effort at a "patchwork" first line just simple has not worked. I hope the suggested "fix" JR intimated might include attention to this detail. I actually understand Staal's frustration. I can also understand his lack of production and significant plus/minus because a 3-legged stool is hard to sit on if there is only one leg. But heh, this is just me thinking out loud and what do I really know anyway..............
1st Line
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 15:51 — B11656Amen to that. Stall is only one third of the scoring part of the 1st line. You could put Gretskey out there with the wingers Staal has had and He would not fare much better. Rutherford has allowed the first line to erode over the last 2 or 3 years and now it has jumped up and bit Him in the ass. It is quite apparent their was no plan to replace Cole or even further back, Whitney. Could have paid Cole a little more and left Kaberle in Boston. D men We have in abundance. There was no plan to fearless leader Maurice will not budge in his determination of who should be with Staal on the first line. I just don't see placing all the blame on Staal's horrid start squarely on Him. The powers have hung him out to dry. Get ready, more Sugar Coating is coming up.
1st Line
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 16:28 — oldpoliticalsAnd a double amen to that......Cole could have been an answer but not at the Montreal $4m+ for 3 years, way too much for what he actually brought to the table. Whitney would have been great! I am still mystified how he got away. Think that was a boo-boo on Mr. JR's part. Don't want Cole at that price and Whitney is not going anywhere. Kaberle not going anywhere for a ton of reasons so no good pointing in that direction. We have other assets to trade for a top line winger right now but it will involve a little pain, always does. The young talent already on board can fill the gap created with a trade. Time to cash in some of those hard earned assets. As far as Staal......I am only giving him a partial pass..........there is this notion of "leadership by example" and some of what I saw this weekend proved to me that some of the team was following him into the same level of frustration he was clearly showing. He is going to have to channel that negative emotion into a positive force. I am betting he does just that cause we have seen him do it before. If he does, the team will follow. But hey.......this is just me thinking aloud and what do I really know anyhow..........
Movers!
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 14:03 — Caniac5Who will probably go?
Joslin, Stewart, and maybe Brent
Who SHOULD go?
MO, Barasso, Staal, LaRose, Pitkanen, and Kaberle.
But none will because they are all over paid!!!!
They are making fans lose interest
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 13:37 — gmwannabeeI understand that a small market team does not always have the money for the big name players at free agent time. What disturbs me with this team is we have players in Charlotte that are successful there, yet when they come up here they play 6 minutes a night. How are they getting a true chance to perform? I say bring up and put together an entire first line from Charlotte and throw them out there for us. If Boychuck, Bowman, Samson and Dalpe helped lead their team to the finals in Charlotte last year, what is the darn holdup?
If Daniels needs to be brought in to help transition players, then dump Maurice already and lets get the team playing hard every night. I for one am tired of all the "Staal needs a line mate". Give me a break. For the money he makes he needs to score..period. And yes, I seen the spear he got away with the other night. Pure bush league. Sutter deserves the "C" more than him. This team is lacking leadership on the bench and ice. If I was the coach, I would have benched him for the spear. Not only that, but he always takes foolish penalties when we least need it. Most true Captains stay out of the penalty box most of the time. If there is a great offer out there for Staal and Kaberle, I would listen.
I am as loyal of a fan as they come. If they are not on tv, I listen to the radio even west coast games, but I am losing interest quick. I am tired of the excuses and as Bryan Allen said, people pay good money after a day of work and this is what we have to see? When will this team learn to figure out that it pays to play hard every night from day 1 so they do not have the pressure of having to win the last game to get in to the playoffs?
Mr. Rutherford, we fans have no problem with young homegrown players. If they are up here, they need to play heavy minutes. I do not mind mistakes or even losses when we play hard all game. This team right now is going to fall out of a playoff chance by xmas.
OMG
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 13:09 — Hockeydad92I was 100% confident that Mo was delusional and felt that JR was right there with him but despite trashing Lavi a few years ago I hopped PK was just detached and not a complete idiot with regards to how his team was performing. After reading the comment "Canes owner Peter Karmanos Jr. strongly praised coach Paul Maurice and his staff" it is clear he is delusional as well and spends too much time trying to regain his youth with Kid Rock and too little watching NHL hockey..
I think this current coach and team would be a strong contender for the Calder trophy in the AHL if Cam continues carrying the team but we don't have a shot in the world at finishing any better than 12th in the east of the NHL as its is now. With this leadership mindset in five years we will watch Skinner move on to a bigger market team and have to listen to more dribble about effort and hard work, but we will still have team cheerleader Chad LaRose.
The nuts in 328 are right that Mo must go but more importantly our ownership must hold the staff accountable like they did to that guy who brought us the cup in 06.
My Concerns
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 12:33 — hockey101After listening to the Aftermath on 99.9 the Fan, their were a lot of fans voiceing the same opinions. The funny thing was when Coach Mo was asked how to fix the problem, his answer was "he had no idea". This shows me this team is starting to not play for him and his system. This should raise a red flad to JR and put Paul on notice.
I agree with what everyone is saying. It's time to bring in a new coach or Jeff Daniels to light a fire uder this team. I'm wandering if Mo heard the chant "Mo must go" from Sec. 329 yesterday. Hope JR did.
It time to put Brandon on the top line and move Staal to the wing and take LaRose off the top line.
Maurice's comments
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 13:02 — CanarseWhat do you expect Maurice to say? He's not going to throw specific players under the bus in public. That would embarrass Rutherford. From what has been said today it appears player movements are in the works.
I'm sure the player they want to trade is Kaberle. $4M for an out of shape has-been. Who will take the bait? The only thing they are going to get is another under-achiever with a big price tag. Still, that might be an improvement.
Calling for the trade of LaRose and/or Dwyer is easy to say, but how do you do it? Who wants to pay a 3rd/4th liner $1.5 and $1.9M? Why trade Dwyer who is a very nice checking forward that makes the league minimum?
The Canes roster will be hard to move. Trading Staal is an idea who's time has come, but some have said he has a no-trade clause. Even if he doesn't, that's a trade that will take time to put together and it will be much harder to do with the cap.
I would hope Maurice would say...
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 13:27 — acheskis... "There are players who are failing to adhere to the system and/or not performing to their potential. The system will be reinforced in practice and players are on notice that effort equates to ice time. As needed, players will be given additional practice time and the opportunity to observe the games from the press box until they obtain an adequate grasp of the system."
Maybe that is too close to calling out players and there can be a more lovey/dovey statement that since the Canes are carrying extra players some will be shuttled in/out of the line up to give everyone playing opportunity/healing time/etc.
Wow
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 12:13 — WakeGuy2010Based Mr. Rutherford's comments, it is going to be tough rooting for a team when the management sides with a career .500 coach while it looks first to trade players when the going gets tough 2-3 years in a row. wow. very disappointed in my hometown team.
2010-2011 all over again
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 11:39 — vance203The Canes have been hovering around .500, just like most of last season. That was good enough for 9th place, so I guess I'll be saving money on playoff tickets again this year.
Hopefully now that JR has an ownership interest, and not just the GM job, maybe he'll make some tougher decisions. #1 should be to seriously think about trading Staal. He is NOT the person to build a team around. He's had how many "sophomore slumps"?
I look at this team and don't see hardly anyone capable of truly leading them. I sure hope they give us something to get excited about...sooner than later!
Agree
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 11:54 — spookyalfI couldn't agree more with you. Staal hasn't played to his potential since 2005-2006, so five years of a sophomore slump for him is unacceptable. Unfortunately, he has a NTC and it is doubtful he will waive it. Where else can he show up for $7 million a season to just hang out. The same place that thinks Chad LaRose is top line material. That's where. No other team's fan base would tolerate Staal's lazy play, let alone any other coach. Staal would have been benched well before getting that C on his chest. He is NOT a leader of this team.
I really will hate to see what happens when Skinner's contract is up in 2013. This team, with PK's K-Mart shopping attitude, can't afford both. My biggest fear is Skinner getting an offer sheet and leaving, then the Canes have nothing.
So JR if on the off chance you even read these posts by fans who don't wear those Mo and Staal colored glasses, get rid of Mo and Staal. That's all Staal is doing, is stalling this team to playoffs. It's quite obvious he isn't leading this team to the playoffs as he claimed in the pre-season.
I have not been a Staal fan
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 12:37 — jenks2217I have not been a Staal fan since we have won the cup. He is lazy and because of this it causes him to be way out of position. Also who takes the C away from a guy like Brind'Amour and gives it to someone like Staal that has never once worked as hard as Rod did.
Also, Gleason, or Sutter are much better leaders that Staal will ever be. Trade the captain away and do something similar to what Philly did and get some good talent in return. 7.5 millions dollars is going down the drain as we speak. You can build a team around Skinner, but Staal is a cancer to this team. (for further infromation, watch the spear he gave out on Friday vs the caps)
I don't think Staal is the
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 14:46 — HurricanesUNC12I don't think Staal is the problem. He has been for his career mostly a point per game player and approx. 40% of his points come on the power play. Our powerplay is struggling (14%) and Staal wingers are no help (as mentioned countless times by others). So far our investment in Kaberle seems to be paying off... Another thing on this point that bothers me. We have plunked down plenty of money on defensemen to run our powerplay, yet we still try to dump and chase too much.
The problem starts with the Coach and works it way down. We are over-slotting our players out of their skill level. We are stuck playing a style that is relatively no longer effective in the NHL and one that relegates us to a .500 Team. The current style of play under Maurice needs to go. We aren't good enough defensively and lack a true shut down defender to play a grind it out defensive hockey game (like Nashville). We supposedly have skilled players, but we relegate them to 4th line duties. While our energy guys play 1st line minutes.
All the fans ever hear about is the talent and the depth in the organization, its time to bring the young guys up and give them a shot. Boychuk and Bowman are both RFA's this season, but have they been given a chance ot earn a lucrative second contract? Or are we just trying to keep costs down when they are given?

I have never been a Rutherford fan. He made great moves the year we won the cup, but before and since then......nothing.

Chip, start asking
Mon, 11/07/2011 - 11:29 — mokimanoChip, start asking Rutherford the really hard questions...this weekend was rock bottom for any fan of this team. Coach MO is one of the problems, ask Jimmy to take off the rose colored "family" glasses when he looks at ol' MO 's track record. Ask Jimmy how those UFA signings of his have worked out? Ask him why every single young prospect outside of phenom Skinner has had there confidence destroyed by MO. This team gets a free pass far too often in the media...the fan base wants answers, they want results...not MO excuses.
