Jussi Jokinen, Joni Pitkanen and Tim Gleason were not at practice today at the RBC Center but should be ready for Thursday's game with the Washington Capitals.
"We think everybody will be available to play," Canes coach Paul Maurice said today. "We'll be careful. We'll hold players out if we think it will make an injury worse."
The Canes dressed seven defensemen Tuesday against the Boston Bruins but likely will dress six for the Caps, Maurice said. A decision on which player will be scratched will be made after the morning skate, the coach added.
"(Gleason) got through that game pretty well, so we're less worried about it," Maurice said.
Justin Peters will start in goal against the Caps. Washington topped the Canes in overtime last week with Manny Legace in net.
Legace was hard on himself Tuesday night, taking the blame for the 5-2 loss to the Bruins. Maurice said he and Legace had a talk today before practice.
"Goaltenders feel like they should stop everything," Maurice said.
