Pitkanen to play against Flyers

Bookmark and Share

Canes defenseman Joni Pitkanen, who took a hit to the head Monday night at Florida, will play tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers.

Defensemen Tim Gleason and Frantisek Kaberle, and forward Patrick Eaves, will miss the game and still are listed as day to day. Kaberle, recovering from a hairline foot fracture, is the closest to returning, Canes coach Peter Laviolette said today.

Pitkanen was forced to leave the game against the Panthers and did not practice Tuesday.

Cam Ward will start in goal tonight against the Flyers.

Pitkanen to Play

I for 1 am happy. But the team that needs to show up is the one who is hungry, hard and determined, and to take no prisioners or bull-puckey...To the fans who are tightening their belts, getting cut back at work, who still have their season tickets and want to see and support a winner, I hope an pray that you'll be blessed, as all of fans want to see a one sided win in favor of the Canes do.

Go Canes !!

Good news. We'll need him

Good news. We'll need him tonight, our defense looked pretty scary at times during the 3rd period against Florida. Pitkanen should have a good game against his old team.

Go CANES!

"who took a shot to the

"who took a shot to the head Monday night at Florida"

I do believe that "took a hit to the head" would be more appropriate. I don't think a puck or shot of any sort was involved with that shoulder hit..

We knew what he meant...

That was a waste of a post.

Just like this one would be, but...

I hope he does well too, except he can't really bring any insight from the locker room as to how the team plays since when he played there the team has changed drasticly.

yeah... but..

folks who watched the game or read the coverage obviously know what happend with the hit, but if you missed the game and read this what conclusion would you arrive at?

Shot to the head = puck to the head in my book. that is not what happened.
