The Canes have recalled goaltender Justin Peters from the Albany River Rats (AHL), who arrived at the RecZone just after Sunday's practice ended.
Peters made his first two NHL starts before the Olympic break and was the winner against the New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils.
Canes coach Paul Maurice said he did not know of the travel plans of the four Olympians. Eric Staal and Tim Gleason both are expected to join the team in Toronto tomorrow, but Maurice said Tuomo Ruutu and Joni Pitkanen may come back to Raleigh and take the team flight to Toronto.
In Sunday's practice, forward Erik Cole was out of the yellow, noncontact jersey and in a black sweater. It's still uncertain whether Cole will be able to play this week.
