The NHL's Bill Daly and Steve Fehr of the NHLPA talked all of Saturday and into the wee hours of Sunday morning on CBA issues. Both cited progress and a full CBA negotiating session apparently will be held Tuesday.
Question: is this the week something substantive is done? Real progress? Finally?
Some hockey fans have tuned out the NHL. They've tuned out CBA talks. Some may have given up on playing a season.
How do you feel? Can this thing be salvaged? Is this the week the right moves are made and we get closer to a CBA, to playing a season? Or just more of the same?
The floor is open.

Who Knows !
Mon, 11/05/2012 - 11:00 — HockeydogAt this point it is hard to guess if the two sides will come to an agreement in time to save some portion of the season. Every day that goes by is another day and chance for people to push hockey further from their minds. A 40 game season will not do much to restore the momentun the game had in the USA, it will only make the die-hards a little happier. They need to find a way to get something done quickly and attempt to re-organize the Winter Classic. It's really both a shame and a joke that both sides were stupid enough to throw the 20 years of work it took to get the US market to where it was at before the lockout mostly down the drain. Instead of a full bowl of ice cream, all that is left is a chuck surrounded by the milk that was once frozen and inviting.
Tuesday could be a GOOD day

Rumors seem to suggest that both sides have agreed to 50/50 and now they're near agreeing to a contract make whole clause. SO what else important needs to be done except put the damn skates back on. Get on with it and get it done.
Then, lockout Bettman and the Fehr Brothers.
Seems to me that if there is
Mon, 11/05/2012 - 10:02 — ctillSeems to me that if there is no agreement in the next two weeks, the entire season will inevitably be canceled. I suspect the players' resolve is weakening, so I'd say there is a 55% chance of a settlement that will preserve a 40-game season.
Does anyone care?
