Langenbrunner hopes to play

Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner was at practice today in New Jersey and said after it: "I would imagine that I'm playing tomorrow."

Langenbrunner has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury.

Langenbrunner was skating with Zach Parise and Travis Zajac during practice. If he does play, Brian Rolston may be shifted back to the fourth line and Bobby Holik could be a scratch.

Devils coach Brent Sutter said a decision on Langenbrunner would be made Sunday. Sutter said defenseman Bryce Salvador, injured in Game 4, would be on the trip but would not play Game 6.

At Carolina's practice Saturday, Hurricanes coach Paul Maurice said the change is not a big one.

"It doesn’t change their lineup a whole lot," said Maurice. "One guy’s going in, one guys is coming out. They’re not going to reconfigure four lines because one guy is coming back. I don’t think it changes much for anybody. We’re too far down the road to change who we are. We’re not changing that today."

The Devils' top line didn't seem to miss a beat in Game 3, with Rolston inserted, even if the same line was less effective in Game 4. But that might have had more to do with special attention the Hurricanes paid to Parise, the line's catalyst.
