Jason Karmanos, who resigned from his position as assistant general manager in September, has rejoined Carolina's front office as executive director for hockey operations.
Karmanos cited personal reasons for his departure, but said Tuesday that his time away from the team only served to underline how much he enjoyed working in the game of hockey.
He'll share duties with his replacement, Ron Francis, and have some involvement on the business side of the franchise as well.
