In an interesting move, the Canes today recalled Zac Dalpe and Jerome Samson from the Charlotte Checkers (AHL) and reassigned Zach Boychuk and Brett Sutter to the Checkers.
Dalpe and Samson will play for the Canes today against the Atlanta Thrashers.
Dalpe was a team-high plus-8 for the Checkers and has 16 goals and 20 assists in 35 AHL games. He has played in 14 games for the Canes.
Samson leads the Checkers with 26 goals and 54 assists and is first among AHL skaters this season with 245 shots.

Samson deserves a shot but
Mon, 02/14/2011 - 08:50 — twinfanSamson deserves a shot but won't get playing time. Maurice buried Boychuck who makes things happen when on the ice. He never played him on the power failure and never in the last period. I don't have much hope for any more offense and hope Staal and company don't wear down by season's end since they are getting too much ice time.
Sadly if

Hey Mo
Sun, 02/13/2011 - 12:15 — WAStoutBe sure to bury Samson on the 4th line and only give them 3 minutes.
We want to make sure our top AHL goal-scorer does not show OFFENSE on our team.
