The Canes' Matt Cullen will miss today's game against Toronto with a leg injury, coach Peter Laviolette said.
Laviolette said he was not sure if Cullen would miss just one game. The veteran center was injured in the third period of the Canes' 3-1 loss to Edmonton on Saturday.
Laviolette said Patrick Dwyer had been recalled from the Albany River Rats of the AHL and would be in the lineup today. Dan LaCouture will center the fourth line, Laviolette said, with Dwyer and Wade Brookbank on the wings.
Dwight Helminen, recalled from Albany earlier in the week following Brandon Sutter's concussion, will center the third line.
Dwyer scored the River Rats' only goal Saturday in a 3-1 loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Or is that Mr.President of the " I'm so happy i could scream" @ the NHL front office fan club ? After all...the "average" fan really doesn't want to know...
Dwyer?
Sun, 11/02/2008 - 13:44 — Anonymous (not verified)Dwyer? Why not Ryan, who IS a Center, and who we just signed as a DEPTH FORWARD. Why sign this guy, who has NHL experience with Buffalo, including 7 goals and 6 assists in 55 games over 2 seasons as a fourth-liner. I just dont get why we aren't giving him the chance to be what we signed him to be, less than a week after we picked him up!

Can we have a training staff that can keep the team from pulling every muscle and hurting every ligament?
For crying out loud.
