After missing the final 11 games of the regular season with an injured foot, and not appearing at any of Carolina's morning skates or practices in the first round, Matt Cullen has spent a little more time on the ice during the Boston series.
His game appeared to take a step forward in Game 5 of the New Jersey series, allowing Paul Maurice to swap him and Eric Staal and create some new matchups that changed the tenor of the series, and Cullen has continued to improve against the Bruins as his health improves.
"I'm getting better, getting better every game," Cullen said after Wednesday's 3-2 overtime win in Game 3. "It's been a process."

Matt Cullen is
Fri, 05/08/2009 - 15:19 — hockeyhickby far the fastest player in this series. he looks like Roadrunner! Love the chaos that he and LaRose cause. The look like 2 Tasmanian devils (sorry) out there. You can really see his confidence and conditioning coming back, especially in this series.
And on a different note: Even though Roddy's ice time has diminished being on the fourth line, he is playing well. he is due for a big goal. If he or Eaves get going on the scoresheet we will have even more balance in the forwards. Never a bad thing!
GO CANES!!! Only 3 hrs and 11 minutes...
Am Glad
Fri, 05/08/2009 - 09:06 — esteban1949matt Cullen is all right. A fracture or a broken bone in the foot seems to take longer to heal, aside from a bruised bone or thigh muscle. Fortunatly the Canes this season do have plenty of back up. So in what 10 hours and 23 mins. to face off in game 4 !! Go Canes !!
