Cullen hits seven figures

Not in salary — he hit that milestone a while back — but in money raised by his charitable foundation, the Cullen Children's Foundation.

Cullen announced during his Cully's Kids Celebrity Weekend on Friday in Fargo, N.D., that this year's event, the fourth annual, will push the foundation past the $1 million mark.

Cullen, who grew up just across the border in Moorhead, Minn., founded the foundation in 2003.

glad he's back

I am so glad that Matt is back in Carolina. He was missed tremendously not only on the ice but his character outside of the locker room too. Hopefully he is back to 100 percent for the upcoming season.

Congratulations to a great

Congratulations to a great guy and a super charity.  I love that the Canes players are so intent on giving back to our local community and to their home communities.

The Carolina Hurricanes are so fortunate to have Matt Cullen back on the team.  Let's pray that he will indeed make a 100% recovery and will be back on the ice in full force for the season!
