The NHL just released the dates for the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoff Conference Finals.
The No. 2 seeded Detroit Red Wings and No. 4 Chicago Blackhawks start it out on Sunday in Detroit. The Pittsburgh Penguins (No. 4) and Carolina Hurricanes (No. 6) start their series on Monday in Pittsburgh.
This round, there will only be one game on per day. And NBC and VERSUS hold the national broadcasting rights in the U.S.

It wasn't even an issue with canes games overlapping with capitals games, they simply were not on the air up here. Regular season I can understand, but that is totally ridiculous for the playoffs. Hopefully that's over with now that only four teams are left. And it's a pity the canes didn't get to take on the caps. That would have been a hell of a series.
