Defenseman Brett Carson has been reassigned to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL).
Carson was recalled Wednesday after the trade of defenseman Anton Babchuk to the Calgary Flames and had almost 13 minutes of ice time in the Canes' 7-1 win over Ottawa.
Defenseman Ian White, acquired Wednesday from the Flames, will join the team today.
Carson has played in three games for the Canes this season.

Carson over McBain
Thu, 11/18/2010 - 17:14 — Caniac5I think Carson should get the nod to stay and McBain needs to be sent back to the Checkers. McBain is learning but Carson came in against Ottawa an made some really nice plays. (Case in point: The pass to Jokinen, in the 1st period, into the zone. Jokinen had a qualifying chance for a goal becuase of that pass.) He has really impressed me this year and I hope we get to see more of him.
