The Canes have assigned five more players from its training camp to its top minor-league affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).
The five players assigned to Charlotte are forwards Jon Matsumoto, Riley Nash, Jerome Samson and Jared Staal, as well as defenseman Bryan Rodney.
