Canes optimistic on Gleason

BOSTON — The good news on Canes defenseman Tim Gleason is that he was able to walk without the use of crutches -- with a boot on his foot -- after Thursday's game at Florida.

Gleason suffered a "lower-body" injury in the third period against the Panthers when he was pinned against the boards. He had to be helped from the ice and was in considerable pain.

After practice Friday at the TD Banknorth Garden, Canes coach Paul Maurice said an MRI would be performed later in afternoon to determine the severity of the injury. Gleason was not expected to play Saturday against the Boston Bruins, with Frantisek Kaberle moving back into the lineup.

"Based on pain, we're more optimistic that it's not serious," Maurice said of Gleason's condition.

Tripp Tracy

I thought maybe it was just me, but Tripp uses many excuses when play is not what it should be and stammers when doing so, Forslund is excellent on and equally so off ice as well. Go Canes!!

its always something...

Am I just a rare person since i don't HATE everyone and everything? It seems like people love to hate everything... especially anonymously over the internet... in person they tend to not be such hateful people... interesting.
Plus isn't tripp doing his job as the "color" analyst. I always thought the job title defined the position... to add color to the play by play.

Also how does tripp have anything to do with Gleasons injury?

Good thing gleason isn't looking to be out long (or at all), he is a big part of our defensive success.

I am Johnnyg and I approved this message.

Not hateful, just disagrees..

He was not hateful one bit in his anaylsis of Tripp. He just disagrees with you Cane faithfuls that believe Tripp is good.

If Tripp was an announcer for any other team besides the Canes, you would all call him a Homer!

Anytime a person disagrees with a Caniac, they are labeled hateful.

Although Tripp gets enough flak and I am sure he is aware, let a person disagree with you all for once. It doesn't hurt nor is it Hateful.

I agree!

We have the best play-by-play guy in the business and even though Tripper is a cornball, he does add some color and the chemistry between him and John seems to work.  I have no complaints--we are very fortunate to have classy, first rate announcers on both the radio and TV side. We shouldn't take it for granted! Go Canes!

You have a choice

You can either watch the game and listen to John and Tripp or not. They are a team and have been for 10years. Get over it!! Stop wasting others time with your ramblings about Tripp, he is not going anywhere.

Any report from the MRI on Tim?

Muzzling Tripp

1. Contact the Carolina Hurricanes front office and lodge a formal complaint..as he and Forslund both are Employees of The Hurricanes, and NOT of FSCarolinas sports network operations...
2. you can go to the next home game the Canes have...that you know he ( tripp tracy) will be at...and he is a "personable guy" and tell him to his face he stinks...
3. Or Listen to 99.9 the fan via the internet and the heck with having to listen to tripp tracy...
so those are the legal and legit ways of protesting tripp asided from carrying a sign...like tracy Sucks or trade Tracy please type of thing...
esteban rolls off having to smile as there are some fans out here who want to " muzzle me" !! Sadlythe
rats lost last night with all the mangt.staff minus mo at the
game in worster... rats lost 4-1

MUZZLING TRIPP TRACY?

Does anyone know how to do this? His constant ramblings about nothing interrupt the great work that Forslund does.

No Muzzle Needed

Tripp is an excellent color man. You don't like him don't listen...because he's not going anywhere.
