Brind'Amour status uncertain

Bookmark and Share

The Hurricanes still aren't sure about the status of center Rod Brind'Amour for the start of the Eastern Conference final against Pittsburgh.

Brind'Amour was hit with a puck early in overtime Thursday in the Canes'  3-2 win over the Boston Bruins that clinched the second-round series. General manager Jim Rutherford said today that the team captain was hit over the eye but not in the eye.

"We are concerned about it," said Rutherford, who said an update on Brind'Amour's condition would be made later today. "It's good that we have team doctors travel with us. They were able to look at him and treat him immediately."

Brind'Amour scored his first goal of the playoffs in Game 7, earning the Canes a 1-1 tie.

Was following this story for a while and decided to check in again. Does anyone know the status of the hockey player's health?

Good

I always hope and pray that

I always hope and pray that all collegiate athletes first and for most pay attention to their education as well. A speedy recovery to the player that went down.

Brindy

Being a Flyers fan, I've been very much upset that the Flyers traded Brindy for Preems. He is still so much a warrior. It was great to see him raise the cup in 06 and I hope he gets to do it again this year. GO Canes, (Flyers south!) (Pikanen, Williams, Brindy!) Is there anyone else?

Justin's in LA

He was one part of the three way trade that brought Erik Cole back to Raleigh.  Now playing for the Kings.  Broke my wife's heart.

I didnt know

That Williams was traded.   Being a Philly guy, I haven't really paid attention until the stinking Pens knocked my Flyers out for the second year in a row.  I hope you guys put it to that sissy Crosby.

I wonder

How Justin is adjusting to life and Hockey out there ?

Go Canes !!

I guess he did get the HUGE

I guess he did get the HUGE goal he talked about a few days a go, what a guy!!!

The WarChief gets even

The WarChief gets even prettier with another battle scar on that mug...he may not have been there in the end but he got the first one last night and almost tipped in the third one...gotta love a warrior...even an aging warrior with lots of nicks and cuts...

What a captain #17

What a GREAT captain Brindy is.
He tried to have Seidenberg get the credit for his goal. In the first intermission interview he stated the credit should go to Dennis, the puck just barely touched his calf. They changed the goal to Seidenberg, but the tape showed the puck changed direction off of Bindy, thus they gave him back the goal. No wonder the team has so much respect for this man. He has so much passion to WIN, just wants to WIN, I do not think he cares much about the accolades. He bleeds Canes blood for all of us. The example he sets for this team and organization is par excellence, day in and day out. He is the definition of LEADING BY EXAMPLE. Hoping all is well and nothing serious comes from this injury.

Captain, my captain, I would go to war for you and with you! You are our heart and sole! God bless.
GO CANES!

Nice post

No need to add anything to that except for an "AMEN".

second that!

Well said, so I'll just second that.  We are truly lucky to have such an amazing man as our leader!

CO CANES!

All we

can do is Hope for the best for the Captain...

Go Canes !!!
