The Hurricanes will retire Rod Brind'Amour's No. 17 on Feb. 18 when they host the Philadelphia Flyers, the team announced Thursday.
Brind'Amour spent eight seasons with the Flyers, becoming a fan favorite, before joining the Hurricanes in January 2000. Brind'Amour captained the Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup in 2006 before retiring last month.
He joins Ron Francis (10) and Glen Wesley (2) as players honored by the franchise since moving to North Carolina in 1997.
Ticket info, from the press release:
Individual-game tickets for Rod Brind’Amour Night will not go on sale until December, but fans can secure their seats now by purchasing ticket plans. The Feb. 18 game is included in all full-season ticket packages, as well as 26-game plans and the “Red Pack” 12-game plan.
