For those who have been asking how Rod Brind'Amour is doing, the answer is … he's doing great.
Brind'Amour said Wednesday he's skating three times a week and has been cleared for his usual late-June workout program. He tore the ACL in his left knee on Feb. 14 and had surgery a day later.
"I'm doing great," the Hurricanes captain said. "It’s been great for really the last couple months. I rehabbed it pretty fast. I was feeling pretty good right at the end of the season but obviously we didn’t make the playoffs. I keep doing my rehab every day and I think everything’s going to be fine."

Rod Brind'Amour
Wed, 07/30/2008 - 23:16 — Sabrenut (not verified)Yeah, that's right, I'm a Sabres fan, but a huge fan of Rod Brind'Amour also. (I know great talent when I see it.) I have been waiting all winter, spring and summer to hear how he's been coming along with his rehab. Thanks for the good news, and Go Sabres, Go Canes!
How is the mental aspect of rehab going?
Wed, 06/25/2008 - 20:02 — Anonymous (not verified)As we approach another season there is no doubt that our captain will be in great physical condition. I hope that this injury has allowed him the time to rehab his mental approach to leading the club as well. In my opinion it is time for him to figure out a different way to deal with the long periods of lackluster effort given by his team we have seen over the past two seasons. It doesn't all fall on the coach to motivate this team. Looking forward to seeing the new and improved Brindy in the playoffs again.
