The Canes today reassigned forward Drayson Bowman to the the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Bowman, 23, has scored six goals and earned seven assists (13 points) in 37 games with the Hurricanes this season. He has totaled 11 goals and 11 assists (22 points) in 35 AHL games with Charlotte in 2011-12.

The Checkers are fighting for a spot in the AHL playoffs and Canes general manager Jim Rutherford said the return of Bowman should help. Canes forward Andreas Nodl, out the past seven games with an upper body injury, will return to the lineup tomorrow against Montreal, Rutherford said.
