The way Canes coach Paul Maurice has been shuffling his lines, it's become somewhat of a guessing game.
It is for the Bruins, who had this Carolina lineup — with "Probable" written on top — posted on a whiteboard in their locker room today:
LaRose-Staal-Cole, Whitney-Cullen-Walker, Bayda-Jokinen-Eaves, Samsonov-Brind'Amour-Ruutu.
Bruins defenseman Aaron Ward used the word "discombobulated" after Game 2 to explain what the Canes were able to do in winning 3-0 and tying the series. Tonight, in Game 3, we'll see if the Bruins still are discombobulated.
And about that word ...
"Marc Savard and I were sitting on the bench yesterday and he was trying to spell it," Ward said. "We were playing a little game, almost like 'Hangman' on the bench. But he got it. I was pretty impressed he got it."
And what did the Canes do exactly to discombobulate the Bruins in Game 2?
"They played well but when you look for answers you always look in your own locker room," he said. "You have to look at what we did and we weren't determined, we weren't focused for the first two periods. We just didn't play a game that's indicative of a Bruins style game."

Well Now
Thu, 05/07/2009 - 08:15 — esteban1949After all the naysayers have been won over to the " gee Mo has to go side of the Canes fans...it seems that Mo is a better coach than many ( including myself) gave the man credit for. It has been some of the line tweaking and adjustments, with the playing from the heart attitude of the whole team that has gotten the canes wherre they are at tis moment. But we must remember to never, never sit back ..be like the hungry wolf, always on the look out for the next meal. And in this case it will be Friday the 8th @ 7:30 pm at the RBCC. can you imagine how happy the bruins would feel if the canes were to go back to boston with a 3 games to 1 lead ??...I shudder to think...PS...how's the parking lot situation there? still a mess ???
Go Canes !!
Sharkie...
Wed, 05/06/2009 - 17:10 — floydm11.... your act is getting tired. Let's go Canes!!!
My Analysis for tonight's game, If I were from N.C.
Wed, 05/06/2009 - 16:46 — JumptheSharkThe Bruins just had a bad game on Sunday. They haven't played like that in months. It's uncharacteristic. They will win tonight because I just know anything's possible. This is a team of destiny. They just need to play better in their own zone. Julien asked Mo if he could borrow Kabs for tonight's game because Kabs plays better on the road, and Mo isn't using him anyway. And the NHL wants the Bruins to win so they can have an original six finals matchup with Chi-town, so we should get all the calls for (and none against). And that no-goal call, should it happen to the Bs tonight, doesn't even go to review. Ref immediatley calls it a goal. Even though it is clearly touching the line.
It's on!
I doubt that they are...
Wed, 05/06/2009 - 16:27 — hockeyhickThey are too well coached to let a repeat of game 2 happen tonight. My gut tells me that this is gonna be an all-out battle. It's on like Donkey Kong.
