We've been writing a lot about budget cuts in higher education lately and want to hear your stories.
If you work at or attend a local university here in the Triangle and have a story to tell, observation to make or complaint to rant about, we'd love to hear it.

The risk of graduating into
Thu, 03/05/2009 - 18:00 — robdarichThe risk of graduating into an environment where there are no jobs seems like a senible consideration.
Shouldn't colleges offer an introductory course in "Why it may be a bad idea to attend college"? The whole premise of going to college is to become educated - but attending may prequalify students as not very well educated.
With the surge in college enrollment, taxpayers get stuck with some extra college expenses. That's worthy when it's worthwhile, but current conditions may suggest otherwise.
How about a random selection of "What grads are doing now?" with last year's NCSU/UNC/Central class. I'd be interested in how many have jobs that require a college education. (not the college's reported outcomes, actual perspectives of the grads).
If the point is to pursue college with blind ambition, just forget I said anything...
