The job market for the state's information technology workers continued to slump in December.
The 3,360 IT jobs posted across the state in December marked a 5.4 percent decline from November, according to a report from the N.C. Technology Association. December was the sixth consecutive month that the number of job postings fell.
The number of IT jobs across North Carolina also was down 19.6 percent compared to December 2011.
Despite the recent downswing, overall demand for IT jobs in 2012 averaged 500 postings per month more than in 2011 thanks to a strong start to the year.
The report was prepared by SkillPROOF Inc., which focuses on job market data and research.
Nationwide, the IT market declined 3 percent from November to December.
