Solstas Lab Partners, which does medical and diagnostic testing at labs around the state, announced today that it plans to add as many as 500 jobs to its Guilford County operations over the next five years.
The company employs more than 720 full-time workers and 140 part-time positions at its High Point facility. In addition to adding jobs the company plans to invest about $11.6 million in the facility over the next five years.
If Solstas meets hiring and investment goals it will receive performance-based incentives approved by Guilford County and the City of High Point.
The company will also receive a $450,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund. If Solstas creates 300 jobs and invests $7.5 million over the first three years of the project, it will receive $450,000 from the One North Carolina Fund. The grant must be matched the local municipality.
“My first priority is creating jobs,” said Gov. Perdue, who was in High Point for the announcement. “One of the best ways to do that is to help existing companies expand.”
Solstas Lab Partners employs more than 1,750 employees working at numerous labs across the state where it provides clinical, anatomical and esoteric testing services.
Salaries for the new jobs will vary, but the average annual wage for the first three years will be $49,023. The average annual wage for all 500 jobs is estimated at more than $45,000. The Guilford County average annual wage is $39,520.
