Raleigh chamber names new board members

The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce's new board of directors includes executives from across the Triangle representing a wide range of industries.

Their one-year terms start Oct. 1. The board is elected from chamber members and helps set policies and priorities.

The 16 new board members are:

Brian Allen, President, Precision Walls
Jim Beley, General Manager, The Umstead Hotel and Spa
Phyllis Brookshire, Regional Vice President - Triangle, Allen Tate Realtors
Leah Brown, CEO, Aten Solutions
Jim Captain, Raleigh Site Head, Credit Suisse
Greg Carr, Wealth Management Regional Director, Wachovia Bank
Claude Demby, Noel Group
Steven Hammel, General Manager, WRAL-TV Channel 5
Thomas Looney, Vice President & General Manager, Lenovo North America
Bobby Medlin, General Manager, Plaza Associates
Ven Poole, CEO, Waste Industries USA
