NBC Nightly News focuses on Cary healthcare entrepreneur

Bookmark and Share

Leah Brown stepped into the spotlight again Thursday night.

The CEO of A10 Clinical Solutions was featured on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams in its recurring series "Making a Difference."

The piece was ostensibly about Nell Merlino, the woman behind Count-Me-In, an organization that helps women business owners through its "Make Mine a $Million Business" competition. But Brown stole the show. You can check it out here.

Brown won the "Make Mine a $Million" competition four years ago, earning her a line of credit and strategic advice. Since then her Cary business has grown from one employee — Brown — to 250.

Reporter Anne Thompson characterized Brown as a "force of energy" for leading the $30 million healthcare research firm while raising two sons as a single mom.

A10 provides clinical drug research and other services for government agencies, pharmaceutical companies and universities.

The Nightly News segment filmed Brown at home cooking for her one of her two sons, and at her Cary offices.

Earlier this year, Brown was featured on the CNBC television show "How I Made My Millions."
