Woodgrain Millwork, which makes millwork products such as moulding, doors and windows, announced Wednesday that will open a new facility in Caldwell County and create 170 jobs over the next five years.

The Idaho-based company will invest more than $8 million in the facility in Lenoir, about 80 miles northwest of Charlotte.

The family-owned company will receive a $635,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund if it meets hiring and investment goals.

The average annual wage for the new jobs will be $29,981, plus benefits. That's slightly above the Caldwell County average of $29,640.

Millwork now employes more than 180 people at its facilities in Richmond and Union counties.
